John McCain for President? You must be kidding!

A look at the two campaigns reveal a very interesting nugget.

Barack Obama remade the Democratic Party in his image and likeness. He leads, dictates and directs the core values and points of his campaign. The talking points on the campaign sound like him, look like him and seem to be him. His surrogates mostly sing his tunes right down to the sour notes. This is his campaign and party. In like manner, he has developed a core theme for his campaign from day 1 and has never left it. He is still hanging onto this change mantra

In contrast John McCain has not taken control of his party. He never got around to remaking it in his likeness and image. More over, he is not even controlled by his party but is led by a select group of people in some remote corner of his party.

His talking points never seem to be his because they run at variance to the things he supported in the past. So often the things he says are in direct contrast to what his surrogates say.

McCain seems to be someone who is sent to deliver a message. He is never comforatable with his talking points and this makes him seem grouchy and old.

There is no one on earth at this moment who say difinitvely what McCain's campaign theme, slogan or mantra really are, fearful that it will change the next day. YES, his entire campaign flutters around like shot bird and has no stability.

There is no eveidence of McCain's leadership in his campaign and this is why he will lose this election.

I am sure that his supporters are not keen on having him as president, they just do not want a democrat in the house. More particulary a democrat of Obama's pedigree.

John McCain is not ready to lead this country. He will not be president.

No kidding - he even find a song which the writers/performers would give him permission to use. His campaign is a train wreck.

At a family gathering last December, I was asked who "looks good" for POTUS. I correctly predicted Barack Obama for the Democrats, but incorrectly predicted Mike Huckabee for the GOP. The reason for my choice of Huckabee is, like Ronald Reagan, you may disagree with his policy positions but he's a prince of a man who is genuinely dedicated to public service. Whereas McCain talks a lot about service, but if you scrutinize his life and his record to any degree, you can tell he's a real A-hole. I wasn't surprised that he cuddled up to Bush after Rove tried to destroy McCain's family, but I was surprised that other Republicans who McCain has called unforgiveable names and come close to blows with would line up behind him like zombies. I was shocked when he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate - no, wait - was I? But life, and politics especially, being so full of surprises, was cheered by some Republicans who fell out of lockstep with the McCain campaign and criticized the way they're whipping up extremist elements of "the base".

Who knows what other surprises lie in store for us?

How can the maverick be that and still run the party?

The oxymoron campaign; a 26-yr Senator is an outsider, the fringe-religion weirdo from Alaska is a serious presidential prrospect (in some imaginations), the man whose reputation is personal honor emphasizes scurrilous untruths, the de-regulator accuses Democrats of loosening lending standards, and the torture victim decides if it's good enough for him it's OK for US detainees.

Not ready? NEVER ready!

When he first chose Palin as his running mate it seemed to me as if he were trying to get HER elected VP more than himself as Prez. Now it just seems as if he's changed his mind about the whole thing and he's trying to throw the election altogether.
