I Know How to Fix it!

McCain claims several times: "I know how to fix this economy".
Really? Two weeks ago, he didn't even know it was broken!

I like that.

In fact, whenever he says, "I know how to..." to do anything, it generally means, "I have no idea what to do, but if I say I know, you'll believe me."

Unfortunately, he says, "I know how to..." a lot.

Yep. He say's Washington and that he can fix Washington.

1. He's been there 26 years and hasn't fixed it yet.

2. He can't fix it from the Executive, as the "brokenness" is the Congress.

I loved it when he said "I know how to find Bin Laden, but I'm not going to telegraph my punches." So _not_ backing his claims up with a plan is now a sign of strength.

Didn't Olberman already nail McCain once 'shame on you Senator for leaving Bin Laden out there roaming free all of this time, if 'you know how to get him!'

I didn't catch that, but I did see someone on HuffPo raise that same point tonight. I think it was Rachel Sklar (no relation to me, though people have asked my wife (who is also named Rachel but kept her maiden name) if that's her).

It's called peek-a-boo economics. If McCain thinks it is to his political advantage, he sees the problem and charges haphazardly through the china shop. When he realizes he has no discernable plan to fix the problem he simply doesn't see it or tries to shift the cause of the problem to those who reveal it, i.e. Obama, the media, terrorists, northern Virginians.
