Do you own voter protection: Inform yourself.
Hey everybody, I see that people are starting to get a little freaked out about voter suppression and I understand that, but there is something you can do right now. If you live in a battleground state or a state with a history of voter suppression start reading everything you can right now. Here are some state by state resources:
The Advancement Project has information on election laws in several states including:
Florida
Michigan
Missouri
Nevada
North Carolina
Ohio
Virginia
And more at this link: Advancement Project Election Law Nutshells.
The Brennan Center for Justice has a good legal guide on student voting rights that covers all 50 states.
If you live in a state that isn't covered here, leave a comment with your state and concern. I'll do what I can to provide an answer to your question. Or if you have more information, please put it up.
Know your rights, tell your friends

Election Administration News Sources:
If you're looking for news about how elections are being run, there are a few good sources out there.
Electionline Today aggregates news stories from around the country and is updated every weekday:
http://www.pewcenteronthestates.org/electionline.aspx
Rick Hasen, an law professor who studies election law issues maintains a regularly updated blog of election law news stories:
http://electionlawblog.org/
Ohio State University's law school also maintains a decent site with links to news articles on election law issues:
http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/electionlaw/
These resources can help keep you informed and let you know if there are specific problems happening in your state or city. For the next few weeks, we will see a large number of inaccurate and harmful rumors, dangerous lies, and outright voter suppression. There is only one way to make sure it is minimized.
Do your part. Know your rights. Tell your friends.
