Didn't handshake? Nah.
That was just a normal social interaction, McCain kinda pointed to Cindy, Obama turned and shook her hand.
I hope people don't overfuss about this. This is the kind of little made up controversy I see a lot from right-wingers.

At the very end of the debate the two meh shook hands. Then they made the rounds to meet others. McCain taps Obama on the back as if to say, "Here is Cindy." Then Obama turns around, hand extended, and McCain directs him to his wife. Obama does not have eyes in the back of his head, so this was necessary. You could not see the handshake at the very end of the debate because the camera was focused on Brokaw; the candidates were blurred but were clearly close together and making contact. Gotta back up the video to where Brokaw ends the debate.
One less thing to get bent out of shape about. Got enough of those already.

Sorry, but unless McCain had shook Obama's hand earlier and the cameras just didn't catch it, I think that this will be the moment that a probable Obama victory turned into a almost-certain Obama landslide.
McCain BACKED AWAY from Obama's offered hand, and his wife had to step in half-rescue the situation. McCain showed no class, no respect and no manners.

First thing they did at the end of the debate was shake hands. That's why they were in front of Brokaw's brain, remember?
No politician is ever going to resist shaking hands in front of a camera. It's just what you do. This is such a non-issue I'm wasting valuable calories just typing about it.

I think you have it right. McCain actually drew back, rather than taking Obama's hand even briefly.
Assuming that the two had shaken hands immediately after the debate, it is usually a slight to draw back rather than take an offered hand.
I assure you that McCain would have jumped at the chance to shake Bush's hand a second time in the wind-up to any event that McCain & Bush attended together!

I agree with you. This wasn't on purpose. If you watch, after he pointed him over to Cindy, he realized what happened and was extended his left hand over to him to indicate he didn't mean to snub him.
Let's not focus on this and worry about the issues.
