Can you say "Prick" here?
This link was up on the main TPM page, and someone on Election Central posted it as well, but just in case you missed it, I just had to do it again. It's the interview McCain did w/ the Des Moine register. I've seen snippits, but this is the whole interview:

I am a Christian woman, and I rarely swear, but I'll tell you...this guy is a prick.

Kudos, Still. Certain words come to mind reluctantly, but when they occur, cannot be denied. Rec'd.

Sorry, Guys...just realized that John Nail posted the same article! Guess I should read the boards before I post...I was just so pissed I couldn't wait to put it up!

I don't usually drop the F-bomb on message boards, but the only words that came to mind when I saw the video were "F---ing liar. Big f---ing liar."

Still,
It's not that I am shocked or seek to halt free speech, but.....
You may be giving credit where credit isn't due. What's that they say, 'ain't no big thing'?!? (couldn't resist the snark)
Just when I think he (or she) can't do or say anything else that will show them to be any more moronic or disgusting, they cross the line again!
Thanks. Rec'd.

You can say what ever you want on here, love. If you aren't comfortable then allow me to do it for you.
Fuck that Fucking Fucker..........and the stupid bus he rode in on.
There. I don't know about you but, that was therapeutic for me.

The question is Why?
Is it the lack of ability to articulate your meanings or thoughts without interjecting words that some might find objectionable.
If I were to have a dialogue with someone on the street, I might overlook your lack of vocabulary skills and your inability to bring the level up to a level of humility and not bar room, gutter talk.
If I had wife or children with me Id have to seperate myself from you in order to protect them from insensitivity.
It would be an embarassment for me to associate myself with people who hadn't considered how offensive it sounds and I would hope that my chidren wouldn't pick up, what to some is a bad habit.
Your thoughts are of interest to me,
but why present yourselve as a classless lout
lout
n lout [laut]
a clumsy, ill-mannered boy or man.

"Prick" is one of those ambiguous words in public usage. As George Carlin put is:

Using the word prick is indefensible! If this is allowed, next you'll be allowing a candidate to say "horseshit" under his breath at a Presidential debate while the media looks the other way!
(snark off)
Actually, I'm tempted to generate a zillion links to old crankypants, with a followup flashing banner saying "YOU'VE BEEN PRICKROLLED!"

I think that every voter in America should be required to watch this and then an Obama interview (hey, make it the pummeling one with Bill O'Reilly even) and then ask themselves who they want to have the task of tackling our difficult problems ... and whose finger they want next to the red button!
I think John McCain has lost ...... well, John McCain.

Well it depends on what you mean by "here". When you say "prick here", are you making a specific request?

While I am not speaking for Josh or Greg, and am only a reader of TPM, I think potty words are ok here. I just try and 'asteriskize' mine where possible, so as to try and observe some decorum. E.g., MJeff could have posted 'F*ck that F*cking F*cker...' but that's his call. (And, now that I think of it, it probably could lose some of its therapeutic effect had it been so written.)
I mean hey, sometimes only a good 'Fuck that Fucking Fucker' will do. I would only ask that we all play nice boys and girls and don't address expletives directly at other readers. I.e., you may call me a total moron if you wish, but a total fucking moron? That would be going too far. (Even in the case of some of my less-than-intelligent posts.)
We are all adults here, poopyheads.
