With the Democrats down in the polls - they'll do anything!
It’s really sad to assail an individual based upon innuendo and
conjecture rather than sticking with the facts. The facts of Harry
Sargeant III are plain as can be: he was a Marine fighter pilot that
like his father before him, served his country unselfishly and with
devotion. Upon leaving the service he used his ingenuity and
perseverance to build a shipping business into the largest of its kind
in the world. That was accomplished through hard work and
determination, as well as perhaps a little luck along the way. Sargeant
Marine was hugely successful well before Harry Sargeant’s fraternity
brother and good friend from college was ever elected as the Governor
of Florida. And because Harry Sargeant was a skilled businessman who
happened to build such a massive company, he was the most likely pick
to become the State of Florida’s Finance Chairman for the Republican
Party. Who else would be better? I’m sure the liberal media would
suggest a broke Democrat instead of a wealthy and successful Republican.
So what exactly is the question here? That Mister Sargeant could get a deal with the government to ship fuel to the troops? So what that it’s a billon dollar deal – he runs a billion dollar company and that’s a bunch of jet fuel to ship. In fact it requires 2000 trucks at any given time.
So is it a crime to be successful in this country now? These smears are a joke. Take a lesson from the point of the Miami Herald article - that what Harry Sargeant does is for the greater good of our troops and of the United States.
“And he donates money, lots of it -- between himself, family and companies, almost $2 million to committees and candidates from Florida to California, The Miami Herald found, with most given in the past two years and most, but not all, to Republican causes.”
It’s a fair to say that although Mr. Sargeant may lean towards the right, he certainly doesn’t shy away from helping Democratic candidates as well. Essentially he votes for what he believes in rather than blindly following the pack. And the fact that he’s been “tapped” by Senator McCain as co-finance chairman in Florida must send shivers down the spine of Obama supporters because they know that Harry Sargeant is successful at whatever he does. In this case it’s getting the state of Florida to vote for McCain.
So what can the McCain haters do? They can spread innuendo and outright lies. In the case of money raisers, they’ll paint them anyway they want and forget that they too have very aggressive money raising machines. But Mr. Sargeant has been very, very good at raising money for anybody that wishes to. It just so happens that he favors McCain and his good friend and Governor Charlie Crist. That means that the Republican Party benefits.
As for spending money on lobbyists – please - $518,000 is a drop in
the bucket for a company that has a billion dollar contract, and
engaged in work for the government that is extremely hazardous and puts
lives at risk. In many cases these are individuals who are foreign
nationals and do not otherwise have any representation in Washington
D.C., other than the lobbyists than Mr. Sargeant hires. The Jordanian
truck driver that is hauling fuel to U.S. troops is dependent on such
efforts.

If that was snark, it was far too subtle for me, I'm afraid.
If it wasn't, then your point is also lost on me, as I have no idea who this person is or what these supposed lies and innuendo are. If indeed you were being serious, what are these lies being told about him?

That McSame's first name is actually John, and the like.
He and his supporters hate his being called what he is. Doing so is lie, innuendo, and smear.

Oh this Harry Sargeant:

Well here's the problem when you start bundling from donors, not even in your state, from people who normally do not donate to any campaign and tend to be not in an economic position to donate the kind of money they are donating eye brows go up and questioned get asked.
So if there is no problem it will go away, if there is it won't.
