Who's sending fake Voter Registrations out in Florida?
I saw this article referenced on another website. To summarize, a 5-year-old boy, black according to the picture, received an official looking document for voter registration.
Now, normally I'd chalk this up to wacky goofiness and geniune error, but then there was this comment:
The Supervisor of Elections Office told Channel 4 applications are only(My italics.) So, ok, where did the form come from? Are there others? Are they going to largely black neighbourhoods? And who benefits from a mix-up on whether large numbers of blacks in Florida are questioned on their legitimacy on voting registration?
mailed to adults over age 18 who ask for them, and what Taylor received
in the mail definitely didn't come from their office.
Not Obama. Because this will mean that all citizens in the areas where these registrations are received are likely to be slowed down in the voting procedure, reducing turn-out.
This sounds so Rovian...

This is a rhetorical question right?
I think what you really mean is "How has the GOP fronted this operation?".

More like "how quickly can it be backtracked to GOP-connected operatives?"

Anyone know enough law to tell if this is mail fraud? Could the sender theoretically get 5 years for each piece of mail sent?

It probably rises to election fraud. But Republicans don't view that as fraud, so they can pretend to be innocent.
And then send it planeloads of liars disguised as lawyers to point out the partisan bias that came in on the plane with them.

Aw, crap! It WVWV (Women's Voices, Women's Votes) behind it. The same ones who screwed up registration throughout the primaries.
The giveaway: Voter Participation Center as the return address.

McCain camp sending out absentee ballot request forms to registered Dems (Wisconsin and Michigan) with incorrect clerk address?
"Democratic voters in at least two Wisconsin communities have received absentee voter forms from the McCain campaign that -- if used -- could cause their votes to be ignored."

"McCain's Absentee Ballot Mailer Fiasco Spreads - Could Disqualify Some Voters:
Reports from around the country advise that John McCain's campaign has sent confusing or incorrect absentee ballot request forms to voters in ten states at least.
Affected so far are Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon (reported by blogger, not confirmed) Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin so far.
In each state, the mailers have a different error, in any of these cases, the voter could be disenfranchised by the error. In at least one state a voter could disqualify themselves or be vulnerable to election challenges if they mailed these forms in. Mailers sent to Wisconsin voters are encouraging voters to send their applications to clerks in communities where they do not live.
If you receive an absentee ballot request form from the McCain campaign ( or any private entity) and you do want to vote absentee, then instead check with your County Board of Elections to get the correct information."

Can we not demand legal intervention on a national scale (paper ballots at the polls and during early voting for all counties/states) in light of the full-scale election tampering going on.
This isn't funny. Are we now on par with a third world autocracy?
Are we going to let this go until its too late and then what?
Does anybody with some power have a backbone?
Demand fair elections!
