What More Information Do You Need?
The outcome of this election is really not about Obama or McCain. It is all about the attitudes and beliefs of the peoples of America.
Where ever I turn in the world the news is laced with information about this campaign. From the lies and smears of the McCain/Palin ticket to the family of Obama in Africa. Information abounds wall to wall on the nature of these four people, the types of campaigns they are running and what messages they are running on.
Analysts all over the world are constantly chatting about the impact of each camp as president on their countries, blocks and even the specific lives of their people. Of course they unashamedly declare a preference for Obama. These include places such as Russia, Cuba, the South American block, the European block, the Caribbean region etc.. etc. In actual fact the world is waiting on the peoples of the US for a decision on how their lives will pan out for the next 4 years. Do you dare to imagine the impact of this election on the world? It's phenominal.
The information is on the ground, its everywhere and therefore all Americans can vote this year from an informed position. Most myths have been debunked, many lies have been called (of course the McCain camp has more lies coming), several freaky evangelists has been named. The books are all open.
So in November we will get to judge the hearts and minds of the great peoples of the USA and see if they will extend and expand on the policies of the last administration, adopt the lies and smears of the McCain/Palin ticket or if they will vote for change, turn the page, clean the slate and start all over.
This is going to be interesting.... can't wait.

"The outcome of this election is really not about Obama or McCain. It is all about the attitudes and beliefs of the peoples of America." Amen. That's been becoming more and more apparent, esp after the introduction of Sarah Palin. If 'the people' themselves don't resist this cynical manipulation, then it's over as far as I'm concerned. Nothing Obama says or does will make the willing-blind open their eyes. But you - their neighbor, or child, or parent - may be able to accomplish that. If the electorate goes into the voting booth with eyes wide open, there can be no doubt about the outcome. Unfortunately, at this moment ... I have grave doubts. It's up to us.

I am finally heartened by the fact that progoganda channels aren't telling the true story of this election.
The cognitive dissonance created by the official narrative contradicting the actual narrative of people's lives will usher in the same sort of reform-minded America that emerged in 1932. This change will happen despite the "official" story being pushed by the corporate media, biased polling and the political "elite" we see every day. yet fewer of us actually listen to.
I am not even a little worried about We The People showing up in November and making our voices heard over the din.

The most encouraging to me was the WAPO comment section on the Palin readiness factor, it favored Obama, it normally does not. A small thing to be sure, but better than the reverse.
