What do you like best about Obama?

In solidarity with the idea someone suggested for a McCain/Palin-Free Blog Day,  I was thinking about what it is that I like best about Obama.  For me, his thoughtful, nuanced approach to interviews and press conferences makes me feel he is actually thinking and paying attention to what is happening in the moment, not merely reciting talking points.  I like that, even knowing that sometimes, by necessity, he may actually be just reciting talking points.  What do YOU like best about Obama?

I like the fact that for the first election cycle in a long time, it appears that the Democratic candididate Barack Obama would, on January 21, 2009, owe nothing to any one person, owe nothing to any one group of persons and would owe nothing to any corporation or group of corporations.

He would owe only to the Amereican people.

His unyielding clear eyed pragmatism. I know he will think everything through, take all sides of the argument and clearly find the most comprable solution. I need a president that won't cater to any side but the one that can most benefit this country.

Great replies. More please.
