Vote at Msnbc dot com ...
There's a (very badly worded) poll over on Msnbc dot com ... "Should the media stop asking questions about Sarah Palin's background and family?"
Because of the poor wording, some folks are voting 'yes,' but from their comments, it is clear that they are only referring to the 'private life' type questions.
So please go there and vote NO, and drive the NO side up a bit higher than 38.2%.
And please rec this so more folks see it.
Thanks!

The poll you are referring to asks if they should 'lay off' asking questions about Palin's 'background' and family. I answer no because I want them to continue to examine her background but you can also comment when you vote and I asked if they were looking for a particular outcome by the way they framed their question?
However the no's were 68% (as in 68% saying no, don't lay off). You can read by people's comments that many were confused by the way the question was framed but some people said her family is 'on the table'.
I myself was just starting to wonder about her relationship with her husband and how he has involved himself in aspects of he role as governor and if we should not be asking more about him and getting a sense of how he would act if she were president?

Ack... I mistakenly said the NO side is at 38% ... I read the wrong number ... right now the NO side is 61.5%. Still, I think the true %age, in actual public opinion out there, is higher than that. That is, if it's clear to folks that unfair family attacks are off the table.
Sure wish you could edit these things....!
Thanks, lb.

The wording of the question bothers me, but I think the perception is already out there that background = family so all criticism is equated to a witch hunt. There are plenty of substantive grounds on which to go after Palin; hammer too hard on what should be private and people dig in their heels and shut off their brains to what's actually important.
At this point it's going to become another McCain lobbyist sex scandal, where Iseman became the story (and was thus easily swept aside) instead of his favors to firms like hers (where the real meat was).
