URGENT UPDATE: REPRESENTATIVES WARN ON BAILOUT DANGERS!
I urge you to watch and listen to Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) on the House floor regarding the unparalled danger posed by this bailout plan and the clear suppression of our constitutional processes. This is critical to the integrity of our nation and the covenants that bind us. Video can be seen at:

Excerpt from Rep. Kaptur:
“We are Constitutionally sworn to protect and defend this Republic against all enemies foreign and domestic. And my friends there are enemies.”
“The people pushing this deal are the very ones who are responsible for the implosion on Wall Street. They were fraudulent then and they are fraudulent now.”
Excerpt from Rep. Burgess:
“Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.”

The internet is not a dump truck, its a series of tubes.
Iam always amazed that the house republicans can even speak with out drolling over themselves. (and yes i know the quote from above is from a senator, who is also a idiot)

The major problem here is that we don't trust our government. I very much resent that they have made us feel that way. There was a day when if the President said we had a crisis and we all needed to band together, we knew it was true, and we needed to suck it up and do our part. And we did.
Since Bush screwed us with Iraq, that trust is gone. If he's moving his lips, I'm pretty sure he's lying. If it wasn't for the fact that my husband has been following this mess for a long time and has been saying for months and months, maybe a year, we're heading for a liquidity crisis and started moving our portfolio into a defensive position quite awhile ago, I probably wouldn't believe that this was critical.
But all the planets he's been talking about are lining up. Then there is Warren Buffet...he's like a God in the investing world, and he says if we don't get a handle on this we're going to have a depression that will make the last one look not so bad...
I don't know if this firebreak will hold, (I don't know if anyone does) but I do believe (not because Bush told us, but because I trust my husband's expertise in this area) that the danger of doing nothing is far worse than the danger of trying this. Much as I hate it. Much as I hate the greed that caused it.

You hit it on the head, Still...this isn't a liquidity issue, its a trust issue. No one in the commercial market believes each other anymore, a state we should have acquired sometime ago when it comes to this government. No one can plan around lies, it results in deep congnitive dissonance what lies are constantly presented.
