The Roveian McCain/Palin Machine At Work
"MCCAIN ALLIES MOVE TO DERAIL TROOPERGATE INVESTIGATION"
This stuff is textbook GOP operational tactics. If the truth is going
to hurt, cover it up. Manipulate it. Distort it. And above all, deny
any of it has merit. But there is another, bigger and more devastating
problem here. The public at large is not being adequately informed of
this investigation or the attempted cover up by the McCain/Palin
machine. The completely disgraceful and un-American Main Stream Media
is being irresponsible and almost criminal in not following this story
with the same tenacity as, say....an Obama (non)issue they are so fond
of frothing at the mouth over, and over, and over.
McCain/Palin was able to lie, distort and manipulate the truth of most
of their statements contained in their acceptance speeches. And
continue on a daily basis with virtually no rebuttal from the "Joe
Six-Pack" press. The press, let us not forget, that too many voters
actually get their (mis)information from. Americans,in general, have to
be the most misled and dumbed down people on earth. This is one of most
horrendous, tragic and dangerous results of the Cheney/Bush
administration.

thanks for your post here. The press is not demanding the right to interview and explore Palin for the American people. WE have been not granted the ability to examine her and frame any informed or intelligent fact-findings on where her positions and views stand. This is so fucked up that she and McSham are asking for our votes with denying us this basic right granted to us by the constitution to be informed citizens. What the fuck is the freedom of the press about? I can only imagine how they would govern the country.
I feel that I'm caught up in some wierd propaganda film written by Phillip Dick.

You would think the GOP would have the courtesy to wait until they get into office before obstructing justice.
And regarding the journalistic integrity, I believe the Comdey Central one-two punch of Stewart and Colbert are on vacation next week so we'll have to wait.
(This cynicism can't be good for me.)

On the other hand, Josh Marshall does link to a Newsweek article about the obstruction up in Alaska, so we can say that some MSM is paying attention. The amount of tenacity with which this story will developed remains to be seen.
The combination of the denying legitimate media access to Palin and the obstruction in Alaska is a remarkable story inn itself. It's like a cover up of Palin herself and a black out of relevant issues. Perhaps the McCain campaign is lowering expectations again so that a later interview or something can be touted as "impressive."

Let us not forget that this is the same "left-wing liberal press that didn't bother to pressure the Bushies before sllowing the American people to be suckered into the Iraq fiasco.
