The Democratic Congress is about to give President Bush a $700 Billion blank check.

avatar

Is the Democratic Congress really about to create the biggest peacetime transfers of power from Congress to the Administration in history? Can that possibly be a good idea?

Read the article. It's an absolute trainwreck piece of legislation, giving BushCo. a $700 billion slush fund to spend however they like with no oversight. This is preposterous.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSMEN AND CONGRESSWOMEN NOW and oppose this. Do you really want to give President Bush a $700 billion blank check? You really think Paulson, Bush, et. al. will be looking out for anyone but themselves and their cronies?

I can not believe any Democrat can possibly support giving any president, let alone THIS PRESIDENT, that kind of unchecked power. Stop this legislation, now.

No way, no how, no bailout.

I'm not excited at the prospect of a $700 million to $1 trillion bailout. However, I don't want to experience the Great Depression, Redux, circa 2008.

Given that the financial markets will not be stabilized under Bush, who along with Laura are busy packing up the china and the linens and the silver, but under President Obama, I'd like to give him the tools he will need to maintain our global economy.

If what Sec'y Paulson and Chairman Bernanke told Congress is as was reported -- we are just a few days away from total financial armageddon -- I'll do the "patriotic" thing and bail out these fools, provided we return the oversight and regulations enacted by Franklin Delano Roosevelt that kept our financial institutions in order until McCain and company started deregulated everything in sight about 26 years ago.

I just don't feel like we can trust what they are telling us. I mean who would you be willing to give a blank check to? Your family? Which members of your family? Your best friend? Which one? This is a lying bunch of bastards and they're sticking us with the tab after they ate out at the best restaurants while we were allowed to bus the table.
