The banality of Sarah
"Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights?"
--Sarah Palin
America's prison for terrorists often held the wrong men
It's good to remind ourselves of the sort of evil these people are willing to perpetuate to stay in power...

Good point.
The woman is hateful, ignorant, base, narrow-minded and jingoistic. Truly wretched.
In short, the perfect fascist archetype.

I would describe Palin's position, and that of the domestic spying, enhanced interrogating, extraordinary renditioning, pre emptive warring, habeus trashing, theocracy promoting Republicans as "contempt of Constitution"

She didn't write the speech, folks. Don't overestimate her.

Well....that's obvious, if she can't read - she can't write.

That was an billigerent Rove/Scully speech, much like early in Bush's term.
This is an attempt at a Bush Resurrection.

Bush and the Republican Party have inflicted catastrophic harm on America, particularly to the thousands of Americans who have died needlessly on their watch.

Actually, this is quite revealing about the way her mind works. She evidently cares nothing for the great legal traditions we inherited from the British and enshrined in our Constitution. She likes the 2nd amendment, but doesn't think much of Habeus Corpus or due process. It is merely enough to suspect that someone wishes to inflict catastrophic harm upon you and you can drop them into a very deep well, forever. No evidentiary review--why should they deserve this?
And these people claim to worship the Prince of forgiveness, mercy, and peace...
Not that I am apologizing for murderous scum, but one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, or maybe just an innocent bystander sold by a rival with a grudge.
Suspecting people of catastrophic motives--isn't that what the cops were doing to demonstrators in St Paul? We are getting awfully close to Minority Report, here...

Sarah Palin is a coward. She talks all tough and puts on a show but is afraid to even take a question from a reporter. She isn't capable of pulling off a tough interview. She isn't capable of being anywhere near the whitehouse either.

At one point, Gitmo held more than 800 prisoners, many for years. All but approximately 80 have been released without charges filed. Most were likely innocent men. Many were picked up because someone pointed a finger at them to receive a bounty payment from the US military.

Jay Carney of Time Magazine pointed out that we now know that Sarah Palin can give a speech, but asked whether she can answer tough questions about domestic policy or foreign policy.
The reponse from the McCain advisor that he posed this question to? "Who cares?" Seriously. That was her reply. "Who cares?" Watch the video here.
I already found it amazing that a full week after being named as McCain's running mate, she hasn't answered a single question from the press, but to hear the McCain campaign reply "Who cares?" to questions about Palin's knowledge of important issues is simply mind-boggling.
