Sarah Palin: the Slow Rollout Strategy
The McCain campaign's strategy for Sarah Palin is becoming clear: the Slow Rollout. Introduce her as gradually as possible, to hold everyone's attention as they wait for more.
Consider that the mere fact of her scheduling another interview has itself become a news item. Let that sink in: the fact that the Vice Presidential candidate has agreed to an interview on a certain date is, in itself, considered newsworthy. That's kind of amazing. Then the interview happens, and of course that's news too.
They'll keep this up for as long as they can, I suspect. They'll dole her out drop by drop, so that each new interview or piece of information keeps Sarah Palin at the top of the news cycle, deflecting attention from both McCain himself and from the Obama campaign.
It's a level of marketing skill worthy of Apple, Inc.
What can the Democrats do to break it? Any ideas? So far, they seem to be waiting for it to blow over. Maybe that's the best response, I don't know...

I hear ya on the interview tip. It is a sad commentary on our media and politics that questioning by the press would be anything other than a given.
She is *product* just like you say. But, the one point I would like to make is that its a *crappy* product that hopefully is getting in the media's mind. She is by no means an easy sell to anyone except the fabled "religious-right" base and to vagina warriors intent on identity politics.
I hope that as this "rollout" continues, the rest of the population will get a good whiff of the stank she's laying down.
The best way for Democrats to make this rollout less successful would be to ignore it as much as possible...IMO.

Obama campaign can't campaign on experience so much any more, but the buzz word needs to be competence!!
(do insert whatever word tests well with voters on the fence, but the idea is to jolt--not quite scare--voters back to the terrible reality of voting for the "person like me")
The idea of a political VP choice as opposed to a thoughtful one...Not understanding the economy...Palin not having anything close to a coherent view of Iraq and foreign policy...
You get the picture
If they can get MSM and surrogates appearing on the talk shows to push the narrative that McCain/Palin lacks competence, IMHO we've got ourselves a turkey on the dinner table.
