Read My Lips
Why can't Obama get the sound bites right? This stuff is easy. Here is what you do:
Setup:
"Republicans have been spreading lies about my tax plan, telling everyone that I will raise taxes on working people."
Sound bite:
"Read my lips. If you make under 250,000: I WILL CUT YOUR TAXES."
The sound bite changes the subject to taxes and away from Palin. Plus, it has the advantage of being true. That's how you win elections. Obama's response on this has been muddled and pathetic.

BTW, the follow up gets even better.
One of the R's inevitably comes back with something like, "The last time we heard 'Read my Lips' it didn't turn out so well."
Then the surrogates hit 'em where it hurts. You say:
"That's because it was said by a Republican. Lying is what they do. Bush #1 lied about new taxes. Bush #2 lied about WMD's. Sara Palin is lying about the Bridge to Nowhere. And John McCain was lying about Country First when he chose his running mate."
