Quick Question on Repub. Crossovers
I know a lot has been made about how the Palin pick galvanized the republican party, and I think us liberal-minded people tend to lump republics into the neoconservative column, but surely there has to be some sane republicans out there that find the Palin pick appalling.
Does anyone know of any polls that measure republican discomfort, or are considering voting for Obama? I'd be interested to see how many follow Hagels thinking. There's a lot of talk of democrat disunity, but how are the republicans doing on this front?

Huffington Post had a big of conservatives who've recently abandoned McCain.
For many it does seem to be over the Palin pick, particularly after watching her Gibson interview. It's not a poll, obviously, but conservative commentators are bound to take some of their readers with them.
Here's the original article, and I think there are some additions since then. Also, in David Brooks column he says that George Will, Charles Krauthammer, David Frum and Ross Douthat have all indicated in various statements that they don't think Palin is ready to be VP.
Meanwhile on the right, the Wall Street Journal has had two editorial pages condemning McCain for his faux populism on the economic crisis and saying that he has it wrong.
