How long do you think it will be until John McCain just completely breaks down, loses it, and throws a good old fashioned temper tantrum?

I'm thinking within about 8-10 days.

Josh Marshall reported on Marc Ambinder's take that McCain's true intent was to derail the bailout negotiations. But I think that gives McCain too much credit for actually having a real agenda to begin with.

Chris Dodd, chairman of the
Senate Banking Committee, who also attended the meeting, said Thursday
that the meeting was contentious and blasted what he calls McCain's inaction.

"I'm not
quite sure what John McCain said at the meeting. He said something. ...
He had no indication he was for any particular plans. I don't know
where he is on all of this," Dodd said.

That insight into McCain's lack of direction at the meeting fits in well with an overall pattern of him flying by the seat of his pants recently, and lacking a game plan that can account for the continuing developments in the economic crisis that are putting increasing pressure on the candidates.  He basically seems to be assembling his campaign strategy piecemeal on an almost daily basis now.  It's becoming more and more clear that he's captaining a rudderless ship, and he's visibly floundering.

And while he should get some credit for having done a fairly good job of anger management thus far in the campaign, at the heart of it he's still that guy with that temper.

I think there's a pretty good chance we'll see McCain have a pretty serious lapse of composure in the not-too-distant future, after a series of failed stunts and gambits swells his frustration to a critical mass and he just cuts loose.  And I think it will happen pretty soon.
