Palin's Yahoo! Email Hacked. Used for Official Business?
The folks at Gawker have posted screen shots from an apparantly hacked Yahoo! email account belonging to Sarah Palin.
Looks like she was sereptitiously using the account for official business insteade of her government account --a serious no-no-- as some of these emails are already being sought in the Troopergate investigation.
No wonder Carly Fiorina loves her...

I didn't know there were rules about that. Why is it a problem to use a personal account for official business?

Most state governments (and the feds) require it for security, accountability, and posterity.
As this incident demonstrates, sensitive info can easily be accessed/stolen on systems that lack sufficient security (like Yahoo!, which isn't encrypted).
And while the government has legal authority over and access to official communications on its own computer systems, it has less over allegedly-private communications on a private system. If someone internal wanted to give adavantages to friends on state contracts, for example, they conduct parts of the review process out of sight on private networks. If someone internal raised suspicions, an AG or IG has the authority to inspect emails on the governments system.

Total bullshit, especially that security aspect.
It is not like someone could just hack a Yahoo account and post everything out in the open.
