Only Gov. Palin can compel Todd Palin to respond to the Troopergate subpoena...Now Isn't That Special!
Anyone afraid that “First Dude” Todd Palin will face legal troubles for refusing to honor the Troopergate-related subpoena?
Don’t be. The Governor has his back covered.
As reported Thursday in the Anchorage Daily News, Todd Palin could be held in contempt for ignoring the subpoena, and face a fine up to $500 and up to six months in jail. But the Legislature has to be in session to bring contempt charges, and it isn’t scheduled to convene until January.
Of course, the Alaska State Legislature could be convened
in special session, but only if the governor issues an “Executive
Proclamation.” Like this one, from June 2008.
So will Sarah Palin consider it in “the public interest” to convene a special session of the Legislature prior to November 4 so that they can consider contempt charges?
Sure...when lipstick-wearing pigs fly wolf-hunting planes.

Great line! Full of righteous indignation. But am I the only one that thinks their full-on stonewalling is beginning to act against them in this election? Americans are not fond of politicians who seek to quash the truth, especially when said "quashers" have previously pretended to invite the scrutiny! I don't always believe that where there's smoke there's fire, but I'm willing to believe there HAS to be in this instance or why would all the big Republican lawyers be up there like white on rice?

I'm still trying to figure out who's taking care of all those kids, since Todd is always there standing right next to Sara. And signing autographs, like he's some kind of CELEBRITY or something. Jeesh.

I have been wondering the same thing.

Looks like we have incest going on in the Alaskan government. McCain sure picked a winner. I keep wondering when he's going to throw her to the wolves. Wouldn't that be poetic justice?

Not completely true - the Alaskan Constitution allows the Legislature itself to convene a special session by 2/3 vote. Text below:
Special sessions may be called by the governor or by vote of two-thirds of the legislators. The vote may be conducted by the legislative council or as prescribed by law.
And definition of legislative council:
There shall be a legislative council, and the legislature may establish other interim committees. The council and other interim committees may meet between legislative sessions. They may perform duties and employ personnel as provided by the legislature.
It's a 14 person joint council, 7 from each house. So they _could_ call a special session even without the governor if (a) the Council agreed to meet and (b) 10 of the 14 then agreed to call for it. Still not likely...but not impossible. AK residents with reps on the Council ought to be pushing them hard to take action.
Note that I'm also not sure how many of the actual legislators would have to show for the session itself to have a quorum/make any contempt charges binding.

This is idiotic strategy by the McBush campaign (unless they know something really bad would come out).
Not only does it make them look bad, but Obama doesn't even have to do anything to publicize it. The PO'd MSM is doing that for them.
