One hidden gem in the Palin-Gibson Interview
From Robert Schlesinger's column this morning, the only one who seems to have caught this little gem:
"`Less noted was Gibson's asking about her comment that, as governor of Alaska, she hadn't been focused on Iraq. Palin responded:
Of course I've been focused on the war, of course I've been, as every American has been, since 9/11.'
Ummm, one problem there, governor: We haven't been at war with Iraq since 9/11. To be fair, John McCain was focused on Iraq from the start"

The question has been raised because she is supposedly studied up for these interviews and reads scripts for her talks because she made a tie for sending off soldiers between 9/11 and the reason for going to war in Iraq as if Iraq were responsible. The question is whether she is doing this deliberately... and why?

I'm beginning to think so (that it's deliberate, incredible though it seems)...
Because if you're a complete unknown with no foreign policy experience, and some has to coach you, I would imagine that the first two questions you'd bone up on would be:
1. When did we go to war with Iraq
2. Why did we go to war with Iraq
She dramatically flubbed both. Right off the bat. I mean, it really defies belief...

So if she was reading a script and told the soldiers on purpose what she knew to be a lie saying that they were going to fight against the people who attacked us on 9/11... why??

This is just my opinion, but she's counting on the fact that she gets away with it. Just look at what's happened so far. The only people who know better and stand up and voice their outrage are people who were going to vote for Obama, anyway.
The undecideds - and if you're still undecided at this point, let's face it, you're a low information voter, by which I mean you don't read newspapers or blogs or any other Internet site - won't vet her with the same scrutiny. And it makes for a great emotional soundbyte.
If you had any information reaching you, you'd have made a decision long ago...
