"my hatred for the American government"

About that title. No, not my words. But just WHO would say such a thing? Jeremiah Wright? Guess again.

Joe Vogler. Joe who? Joe Vogler.

Okay, but who you say is Joe Vogler.

Joe Vogler is the founder of the Alaskan Independence Party.

Okay you say, but who or what is the Alaskan Independence Party?

The Alaskan Independence Party is a political party in Alaska that seeks to be independent. Makes sense huh?

But independent from what? The answer is -- ding, ding, ding -- independence from AMERICA!

Okay, so you now you kind of get it. But what's your point you say? Why is it relevant to "us" regular Americans down here in the lower 48?

Well, whether it's relevant or not is entirely up to you. But it's something I personally think I should know before I cast my vote on November 4th for the next president.

Why you might ask does this have anything to do with how I decide to cast my vote for the next president of America? Well... you see... one of the guys who is one of the two major political party's candidate for president has selected his running mate to be someone (and their spouse) who is reported to be a former member of the Alaskan Independence Party.

No, not Joe. The other vp candidate. Some are calling her scandal-a-day-Sarah but I'll just call her governor Palin.

Yes, Sarah Palin, the current governor of Alaska -- former mayor of Wasilla, I just like to say Wasilla -- has been reported to have been a former member of the Alaskan Independence Party whose main goal in life is to no longer be a PART OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Governor Palin gives A WARM WELCOME to the 2008 ALASKAN INDEPENDENCE PARTY CONVENTION!

Back to Mr. Joe Vogler and the title of this column "my hatred for the American government".

Yes, the founder of Sarah and her husband's group, good ol' Joe said this.

The comment in its entirety "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government and I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home," Joe Vogler, founder of the Alaskan Independence Party.

Does knowing this about Joe Vogler, Sarah Palin and her husband have any effect on how I will vote on November 4th. Sorry but I'll keep that to myself. Will it effect how anyone reading this votes on November 4th? Guess that's something I'll never know.

Oh, and just one more thing. Even though apparently some in Alaska don't want America. To anyone in Alaska that may be reading this, just want you to know, this American still wants Alaska to remain part of the United States of America.

FYI...Sarah never actually joined the Party. The registrar of voters in Alaska confirms that she never changed her affiliation once she registered to vote Republican in Alaska. Her husband, however was a card carrying member for about 5-6 years, until 2002, again comfirmed by the registrar of voters.

She may have sympathy for them, or even love them for all I know, but she never joined.

Let's be careful about running w/ inaccurate info...it just makes us look nuts.

But Todd Palin was registered with the AIP. Guilt by association...big time.

FYI. The chairman of the AIP Lynette Clark said Todd and Sarah Palin were both former members.

I would respectfully suggest that mainstream media is looking a little "nuts" by avoiding (so far) asking her to answer that question.
