McCain the Father Figure - Obama the Presidential Figure
John McCain came off as a smarty pants. The bully on the block. He was constantly on the attack and told us nothing of what ‘he’ would do, only what he claims Obama would do. McCain was a Mr. Know It All. He tried his best to play the ‘father’ figure. Look son, I know better then you do.
Barack Obama came off looking like a current President would, trying to calmly tell John McCain where he was ‘wrong’ in his thinking. He reminded me of Bush in 2004’s election debates. While agreeing with McCain on many things, he would always point out however, where he felt McCain and Bush for that matter - have been wrong –all along.
My first expression of Obama’s actions when the debate ended was - Dam it Barack, why didn’t you attack him more? Why didn’t you demand an explaination from McCain on what his definition of victory was in Iraq? Why didn’t you point out that General Petraeus, McCain’s hero, said there would be no so-called ‘victory’ in Iraq. Why didn’t you go after McCain’s veterans issues. Why didn’t you tell folks McCain’s record with veterans groups across America. Why didn’t you look into the camera after McCain’s ranting on Iran, North Korea and Iraq — See Folks — this is just more of the same neo-con attitude we’ve seen for the past 8 years with the Bush administration — who by the way, John McCain supported more than 90% of the time.
My first expression of McCain’s actions when the debate ended was - Get over yourself John. There’s more to life then your 6 years as a POW. Being a world traveler doesn’t give you some sort of ’special’ ability to run a nation. You are so narrow minded - you seem to have one mode only — Attack.
If you liked either candidate before the debate, you probably still do. If you question who’s more ready to be commander-n-chief you should have seen that ‘both’ are. The only real difference is, do you want to continue down the path that we’ve been on, maybe more war, or do you want to try something different; Something that seems logical?
Do you like the way the economy’s ended up? If so, choose the man that’s supported that path 90% of the time, otherwise choose the other guy that thinks we need to take care of the middle class first.
Polls on all the stations are saying Obama won the debate. Except for Fox of course. I don’t think either one won or hurt themselves to mean any big difference.
