McCain Lowering Expectations?
Long time reader - this is my first time posting on TPM.
Could McCain's debate stunt - asking for a delay or cancellation for the economic crisis - be a means of lowering expectations for a lackluster preformance against a powerful Obama? Clearly this cuts both ways, but McCain could argue that focusing on the economy did not allow for the necessary debate prep while Obama was so focused on the election and not the economy that his prep was more comprehensive. As the candidate who wanted to cancel the debates, this would work better in McCain's favor than Obama's. Still, it seems desperate and I hope people will recognize that.

So we go from I was a POW for five years to I was dealing with the economic crisis for five minutes.
Well OK then.
