Manipulation Apparently Going On at INTRADE.......

http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/

Nate's article details some VERY suspicious activity in the trading patterns recently at INTRADE - patterns that reflect deliberate manipulation of trade to deflate Obama's win percentages.
Worth a read......

I've been thinking this all along. Naturally, anyone with money (Cindy, for example), can manipulate the numbers. It's like a poll that is not random. So as fascinating as it may be to see those numbers roll by, disregard Intrade. The Obama folks are putting their boots on the ground. Meanwhile, the Thrill-seeking mcShame folks are playing roulette.

right again TheraP, these "voluntary" polls are subject to egregious abuse, once the R's know how to game them.
...we know they are pro-actively "fixing" the PBS online Palin poll, so it should come as no surprise that a poll like this would invite manipulation.

I still hold to my theory that, shortly after we took both houses in 2006, the R's web geeks convinced the party old-timers to give them the resources (money) to promote a provocateur's pose, recruiting ne'er do-well webheads to go forth and blog.

We have seen them tighten up their online presence to the point that we can no longer trust polls that were originally refreshingly reliable.

Just go back in the archives to Dec. 2006 and see which new posters joined the ongoing blogument.

JakeD comes to mind, now he's over at The Fix haunting Cilliza's readers. And posting first every chance he gets. Which I think is one of the hallmarks of this crew of hired-web-guns, they float like vultures over the blogs and swoop in whenever they smell fresh meat.

S'cuse me for being paranoid, but I saw this happening as it occurred.
