Let's see Palin's 1040
We know that Palin took per diems for 300 nights when she was at home. Unseemly but possibly not illegal. However, if she didn't report those per diems on her 1040, which are not included on a W-2, then she's practicing tax evasion. A tax vetter might ask her if she had any other income from investments, etc., that should be reported, and she might well have thought of the per diems not as income, but reimburesements for expenses, so, she might say 'no.' Nevertheless, it is taxable income. If she didn't report this and it comes to light, I think she's blown out of the water.

As I understand it, the gauntlet has been thrown fully in her face: Biden released 10 years worth of his tax records.

I think they're setting up a scenario where Palin drops out "for the sake of her family." That's the sense I've been getting because of the way they keep pushing the story that she's being attacked, and now her spokesperson is referring all questions about her past to the McCain campaign.
Now that they're finally getting around to vetting her, I think they found something that's going to sink her. A tax problem might very well be it.
She can drop out without releasing her tax records and save face for herself and the campaign.

Without Palin, the GOP ticket is "Shit On a Stick".
People don't care about facts. This is reality TV nation's finest hour. They will ride this donkey slayer all the way to 1600 P Ave.
If McCain is elected, goes septic from a stress induced Colitis, comes up on the wrong side of three coing flips and is actuarially eliminated from the 2010 census, Palin will be responsible for running the world's largest economy and military. I think the voters figure that if a complete moron like Bush can do it, how much worse could she possibly be.
She thinks a derivative is something you add to your gas tank to keep the fuel lines from freezing.

The vetting team that McC and Repubs have sent to AK must have tripped across a smoking gun. Maybe it's tax evasion or maybe just just the nonstop series of little smoking pistols. Anyway, with the bizarre cancellations in her schedule, it now seems very conceivable she is going to get dumped. May we all live in interesting times, I guess.
