John McCain Is A Coward

"Sen. Obama and his allies in Congress infused unnecessary partisanship
into the process," McCain said. "Now is not the time to fix the blame; it's time to fix the
problem."

What a big, fat pussy.  First he tosses the rock, then he hollers "Truce!".  What a coward.  What a goddamn coward.

Any normal person's brain would be melting at this point from cognitive dissonance. But i guess that's why we need a super hero like McCain...can change positions faster than a speeding bullet, leap skyscrapers of logic in a single bound. Gassier..than..a...locomotive? I don't really remember how it goes.

Ah, but John McCain, he thinks it's funny when he lies

McCain 2008 , has completely sold out McCain 2000.
The 2008 model is a bullying brute without honor.
The 2008 model will loose this election cycle - the voters-this time - just aren't affected by the neocon bullies who would make us all afraid ..
Repeating - McCain 2008 is a dishonorable bully , and a fleckless liar for good measure.

avatar

He can explain it thus: "I was calling on the American Voter to not only BLAME Obama, but to FIX the problem by electing ME!"

"The Fundamentals of my Campaign are Sound!!"

avatar

"The Fundamentals of MY Campaign are Sound!" and fury, signifying nothing.

There's alot of floundering going on. McCain's is just visible, above the surface, made painfully clear by the candidate himself not being able to remain coherent from one statement to the next.

Obama has remained above the fray, only venturing into the shallows of the politics of this fracas, where even angels fear to tread. As a consequence, he as exercised wise judgment at the expense of the prized accolade of leadership. To be sure, there's not much leadership a presidential candidate can exert without introducing hyperpartisan politics into the process.

I don't know how this will end. I suspect, through arm twisting or even by knife point, those 12 wayward, "principled" republican's will switch their support. Perhaps after an additional trillion dollars in stock market losses.

I'm mystified that we find ourselves at this crossroads in history. How is it that we could be so blind sided? These are questions for the future, once the immediate crisis is averted, but they need to be brought to the light as quickly as is feasible.

What this crisis has done, beyond the fact of exposing the myth of the unregulated free market, is highlight the soundness of Obama as a potential president. He's remained calm, composed, and exuded a confidence and faith in our future, that's reassuring and needed in these troubled times.

We need to get this man elected, stat!

avatar

There's definitely flailing going on at the McCain camp.

avatar

Yeah: and we have to treat Palin DIFFERENTLY during the debate because . . . a Republican? A former PART-TIME mayor? A governor?

If can't be because she's a female, because that would be sexist, which would be ILLEGAL. And we know how much the Republicans loathe doing anything illegal, so will do everything they can to make it legal first.

avatar

I wonder what McCain Thinks about the fundamental health of the economy now, still healthy?

I can't stand McCain.
Zero respect for him.

What concerns me is the level of support this man, and his running mate, continue to have. She is clearly a know nothing--and he is a demented, senile old fool and a scoundrel, to boot--and yet my fellow Americans defend the idea of his candidacy, every day.

I'm not big on hate, but based on his conduct in this campaign, I have nothing but contempt for the man. I can find absolutely nothing redeeming in his conduct.

Really, for all his crimes against truth and the public trust: he is the Man Without A Country.

avatar

In the United States of America, David Duke himself could run against a black man and get 40% of the vote.

A maverick full of mavericky maverickness like McCain? That's good for at least another 5 points there.

Good point. It still makes me sad. They announce Sarah Palin and promote her like a country and western star, like she's the new Coal Miner's Daughter--and 60,000 show up to see her.

"But, she's just like me!"

Uh, ok, so, can you name any other Supreme Court decisions beside Roe v Wade?

So, what do you think will happen if they manage to organize a big flashy wedding for Bristol Palin before Nov. Or, maybe on Nov 3?

Will people vote for McCain just because the VP's daughter got shotgun wedded? Or will they see it for the deeply cynical stunt that it would be?

Coward is too kind a word

avatar

McCain is pathetic, dangerous and
nasty...and too damn old. He is not
interested in administering this
country, he wants the title and the
perks...its all ego with him.
As to the Palin potential wedding
being a lift, its more probable that
there will be no wedding as the
health insurance for the baby and mom
are under Gov Palin's account.
They wouldn't want to take any chances
that would put the costs back on
them, judging from the history.

Hard to me to fathom how big an idiot you would havew to be to call a War Hero like McCain a coward. However I was stunned when Oilbama, who voted for the very same Bush Cheney Energy Bill that both McCain and Hillary opposed,
and his loony Oilbamabots, labled Bill a racist and called Hillary a f*cking wh*re during the primary. Oilbamabots go down as the lowest form of life ever found on the Blue Planet. My fervant prayer is that Oilbama loses and all his cultlike obamabot followers become Moonies, that is of course if the Moonies will have them.

Hero? I'm not convinced you know the meaning of the word. McCain was awarded his medals without the required eyewitnesses:

So what was it that he actually did that was above and beyond the call of duty?

Here is what Rear Admiral James Stockdale did:

"Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while senior naval officer in the Prisoner of War camps of North Vietnam. Recognized by his captors as the leader in the Prisoners' of War resistance to interrogation and in their refusal to participate in propaganda exploitation, Rear Adm. Stockdale was singled out for interrogation and attendant torture after he was detected in a covert communications attempt. Sensing the start of another purge, and aware that his earlier efforts at self-disfiguration to dissuade his captors from exploiting him for propaganda purposes had resulted in cruel and agonizing punishment, Rear Adm. Stockdale resolved to make himself a symbol of resistance regardless of personal sacrifice. He deliberately inflicted a near-mortal wound to his person in order to convince his captors of his willingness to give up his life rather than capitulate. He was subsequently discovered and revived by the North Vietnamese who, convinced of his indomitable spirit, abated in their employment of excessive harassment and torture toward all of the Prisoners of War. By his heroic action, at great peril to himself, he earned the everlasting gratitude of his fellow prisoners and of his country. Rear Adm. Stockdale's valiant leadership and extraordinary courage in a hostile environment sustain and enhance the finest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service."

Exactly what part of his war record is heroic? He lost his part of the war by getting shot down. As for the enhanced interrogation, to here you Repubic-scum describe it, it's somewhere between swimming under water and frat party. Just Google, you'll find the relevant references.

Do you consider John Kerry a hero? Did you publicly rail against the Swift Boaters for Lies? I thought not.

Bill C, I assume you are addressing me when you say

Hard to me to fathom how big an idiot you would havew to be to call a War Hero like McCain a coward.

In this campaign I have indeed called McCain a coward, will probably do so again, and have also called him worse (and will probably do so again). Go back and read my posts if it entertains you.

As for his POW time (did you even know he was a POW?), I have not much to say other than I think he made as great a sacrifice for his nation as any living being can make, and I respect him for that.

As to whether his POW time qualifies him to be president, please see Phillip Butler's video comments here (shortened tpm link)

c4Logic, says "Hero? I'm not convinced you know the meaning of the word. McCain was awarded his medals without the required eyewitnesses."

c4Logic, I consider every American who has fought for our Freedom a War Hero.
Oilbama, who voted for the Bush Cheney Energy Bill, would not qualify, unless you consider Oilbama allowing his financier Tony Rezko, whose tenants froze for months during a Chicago winter because Rezko didn’t manage the properties Oilbama’s influence gave him the means to buy up, heroic.

The Vietnam military misadventure was not fighting for the freedom of any American. It was fighting a civil war on behalf of one side. More than 50,000 Americans lost their lives fighting for Vietnamese Unification. What were Americans supposed to get in return? What freedom of yours or any other American was threatened or compromised? I find it hard to believe that, with so many history books available, any confusion still exists about our misadventure in Vietnam--where no congress ever declared war.

I consider every American who fights AGAINST the loss of our freedoms heroic. That would be those who OPPOSED Vietnam and who OPPOSED the Iraqi War. Our freedoms where never threatened by Vietnam or Iraq. None of the so-called free world was threatened by Vietnam or Iraq.

Serving an unjust cause is not heroic, it is cowardly.

I consider every American who has fought for our Freedom a War Hero.

Thank you.

Whatever our political sympathies -- and it indeed gets ugly at times -- I do feel that political differences are overrated. I do not personalize it; if McCain wins, I will shrug my shoulders and drive on.

These boards fill a deep need in many of us, to share and to be heard, and you won't hear me complain when the site crashes or when someone doesn't return my emails. The world will not end if McCain wins the election as many will have you believe. Though I do feel that Obama (or Hillary) is the better candidate for the troops; McCain is just too war hungry, and we have a military that is much different than his Vietnam military. Not so much the handsome studs you saw in the movie Platoon, not anymore -- it is now a military of mothers, minorities, and many many women. The deployments are taking their toll - not that they can't handle it, but the full scale repeated deployments that McCain wants will wear us out in the end. Obama is better for the troops.

Dishonorable John.

*Puke*

Here's a stroke for that joke, pussy hare.

Thanks, man. Coming from you, that's a truly bipartisan comment. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

My friends....

THAT'S not change we can believe in!

Heeeaheahahhh... (weird grin)

This example doesn't show McCain to be a coward, hrebendorf. I'm at a loss for why you use "coward" or "big, fat pussy" to describe his comment.

Was it contradictory? Yes.

Transparently partisan? Yes.

Inflammatory? Yes.

Inaccurate? Yes.

Par for the course? Yes.

Timid or fearful? No. He was throwing a rock back at the Dems because of Nancy Pelosi's partisan floor speech. Of course he pitched the rock at Obama, who is the representative of the party. But that's what they do in Congress: blame each other.

I don't even know how you got recs for this post. I guess for stamping your foot and calling McCain names?

That's sad.

Actually, I think He's in complete denial and still fancies himself the noble POW/statesman.

49 recommends?! For a short rant that took a few seconds? Shades of "Howard Beale" in "Network" telling everyone to get up off the chair and yell out the window.

It wasn't the rant that got the recs. It was the headline.

Plus, coming from me, calling someone a pussy is quite an indictment. *:o)
