It's happening...
October surprise? I am up late (12:30 my time) watching the Rachel Maddow re-run and NBC just broke in with news of a bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Yemen. Here we go with fear-of-terrorism as terrorism against the American voter. McCain's most valuable campaign asset and the RNC's favorite every-four-years boogey man, Osama Bin Laden, seems to be at it again. A little early this time, no? He must have read that most states have some form of early voting now.

Maybe, depends on how large the attack was (nothing I can find seems to give any information besides 'smoke seen rising from building') and how the media treats it. We've had problems in Yemen; there was a failed mortar attack on the embassy in March, and some smaller skirmishes.
That aside, I'm sure that terrorism was big on the advance preparation list for Obama's campaign. It's just sad that attacks are likely to turn into another piece of electioneering.

Democrats have ended up in a strange position, haven't we? On one hand, what's bad for America is "good" for us politically, for example, crashing economy, mortgage crisis, rising energy costs, sectarian violence and American deaths in Iraq. On the other hand, there is this one thing that we think is bad for America and bad for us politically. Terrorist attacks. Why is that?
