I Seriously Think McCain Is Delusional
The man has gone over the edge...dropped a few cards from his deck...run out of chips for the dip...etc.
I saw him tonight saying, with a self satisfied grin, that progress was made today in the bailout package negotiations and whatever credit he deserved would be up to others decide.
The scary part is that I realized he actually believed what he was saying.
This despite the fact that everyone knows that an immenent deal was reported, and that things fell apart after McCain showed up with his new plan. What kind of a mind does it take to think no one will notice what really happened?
Maybe he hasn't been lying for the last 4 months. Maybe he is completely delusional and actually believes his own BS.
How do you tell a man running for president that he is mentally unfit to be in the position he is? I think there are several people in Washington who are either trying to figure that out, or afraid to tell him.

I've been wondering for the past few weeks what the process is for demanding that he be given a fitness for duty exam...I'm really thinking he's had a stroke or some other neurological incident that has left him not functioning properly...

i've heard that about the stroke. i've seen him in interviews and video the past 18 hrs and he seems like the same bumbling mccain. but i don't know, maybe he did get a wire crossed. the idea of a fitness for duty exam sounds appropriate, anyway.
a question i'm starting to think about is what mechanism the gop has available should mccain suffer a major health crisis? does palin become the nominee? the ballots are printed, no? the voting has begun in some places. has anything like that happened to a major party in a pres. election?

Ever since I saw McCain totally lie with steely-eyed certitude about Romney positions in that final GOP debate, that McCain was either a more skilled liar than even is Cheney, or he actually believes his own lies. The man is unfit to be president in either case.

Please allow me to try the below re-write: (my coffee obviously hasn't kicked in yet)
Watching McCain lie about Romney's positions (with that steely-eyed warrior certitude of his) in that final GOP debate was interesting to witness. I wondered whether McCain was more skilled liar than even is Cheney, or whether he actually believes his own lies. In either case, the man is unfit to be president.
