"Hillary Sent Me."

"Hillary Rodham Clinton stepped up her efforts Friday to swing her supporters behind Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, her former rival for the nomination.

In an outreach dubbed "Hillary Sent Me," the New York senator invited her primary-season partisans to get involved directly in Obama's campaign and to donate to it. As part of that, she urged them to travel to a specific battleground state each weekend, beginning with New Hampshire on Sept. 27, when she will be campaigning for Obama in Michigan.

"Today I am asking all of you to stand up with me, to hit the road and spread the word that we must elect Barack Obama president and send a Democratic, filibuster-proof majority to Congress," Clinton told supporters in a conference call Friday. "This is a call to action, a must-do. We all have a role. And there is not a moment to lose."

Life is about choices. Make a bad choice and bad things happen in your life.

Now Americans have a choice. A party in power that gave us a new depression, bailed out with socialism, dividing with hatred, reputation destroyed, needless war based on lies and governs only for the wealthy.

That is a bad choice and bad things will continue to happen with that bad choice.

Lets makes make a new choice and hope better things will happen.

The new choice is change which is constant and the bad choice is not change just a bad choice.

BTW, another message for Matthew Weaver:

I tried to tell you but invite you to join me in Hillary's leadership.

Hold on, I'm picking myself the floor. Does this mean your on board for Obama or least walking up the gangway?

Man, with this socialism, he is the only choice.

I hope they take the opportunity to ban lobbyists so there will be oversight but doubt they will.

Rushing to solve it in a weekend, is politics as usual and a mistake.

I feel for the younger generation and hope they will vote this time.

It is their future.

Bless you!

Hell Freezes Over?

pigs with lipstick flying...

Gotalife... pull up a chair, grab a beer, we're glad you finally made it! hip hip hooray!

I am happy to see this. I'm very happy, today, that Hillary stood up and spoke out about women's rights, and about Obama.

Let's not break this tender thread.

Well done, Gotalife.

Hillary Sent You, so that's one already. Keep it rolling.

I am speechless. Very, very happy, but speechless.

Ok folks, Gotalife is on board!

So if any of have not jumped on - please sign up here:

Nope, don't buy this particular change of stripes.

Say what you will about gotalife, but subtlety was never part of his style. I think he's being genuine. (I also clicked on his profile to make sure this is the gotalife. I was surprised to find that it is.)

Ben, I THOUGHT it was you! Did you take some time off, or did it take me this long to recognize you? Remember when we met on the corner? Glad to see you again!

I didn't spot you at Michelle's rally. How many people do you think were there? I think more than 2,000.

I hiked the last 200 miles of the AT with my wife (she hiked the whole 2,200 miles), so I was gone for a while. I have no idea how many people 2,000 is, so I can't adequately judge how many were there. I'll just go with "lots". Although I admire Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, I really thought that Lily Ledbetter was the best speaker there, as far as her message went. (And, of course I remember when we met at the corner. You're the only TPMer I've met IRL.)

I never would have expected it and my first reaction was to be very skeptical. But I agree with Ben. I'm also not sure what the "GOP = socialism" argument is here. De-regulation leads to greedy excesses leads to crashes leads to bailouts leads to government ownership? But there are lots of good reasons not to want McCain/Pain in the white house.

Thank you, Gotalife. Bravo!

Go Hillary!!! This is the type of leadership we need and shows her best side...even I am coming around to Hillary which is hard to admit....maybe it took a comparison like Palin for me to showcase how good Hillary is...

Wow. Good on ya, gotalife. We know you are tenacious, so now it can be to Barack's benefit. Just goes to show how pivotal this election and how little the existing power structure understands what is happening this year.

Gotalife, you've just exemplified something I've contemplated writing about -- leading by example. I hope people across the political spectrum are as discerning and courageous as you, and have the foresight to understand that as bad as things are now, they would be unimaginably worse with a McCain/Palin administration.

Your post is quite humbling to me. I clicked on it with more than a little trepidation.

Well done.

I think this last 2 weeks is when I've finally been able to see who the Hillary supporters are and who the Republicans acting like Hillary supporters are. Some of my Hillary supporter friends this week surprised me by expressing their preference for Obama after leaning towards McCain. I give Hillary a lot of credit for how she's handled herself since the primary battle.

avatar

Goosebumps!

Respect. And thank you.

Thank you.

this is terrific news.

avatar

You rock, gotalife. As much as Hillary does. ;-)

Major props to gotalife, gasket, and Hillary. Peace.

Co-Sign.

One love, gotalife. :)

yes. co-sign. including gasket... ;)

Palin and socialism killed that ticket. It is sad watching McLiar desperately trying to get back to rovian distraction politics after leading on the socialist revolution with Gramm.

This election is about stopping the socialist revolution. Want more socialism, vote gop.

If not, don't.

Welcome aboard Gotalife. Glad to see that Democratic principles actually do trump all with you.

Please accept my apology for the time last spring when I was GoatLife.

Meheheheh.

Aw, shoot. I miss that old avatar! :-)

This one?

Meheheheh.

Gotalife - welcome aboard :) And love the new avatar!

Thanks.

I think they are using the China model of socialism without the accountability part and death sentence. Gramm and McLiar would be history.

If they are, the airlines and car companies will be socialized.

They have asked for bail outs.

gotalife!! I'm so happy!! ;)

Wellcome!
{{{hug}}}

*welcome.

So Hillary got through to you. I'm grateful.

This is a very gracious post, gotalife. Welcome aboard.

OMG!

WOW!

This deserves a TPM front page headlines. Thank you, welcome and champion.

You're a better indicator than any poll.

Actually, I have to apologize for being banned on that page.

I was dead wrong posting about "the whitey tape" and deserved to be banned.

Larry Johnson has as much credibility as Sarah Palin.

Sarah does make Hillary shine.

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!

No, really. I'm not even kidding.

For god's sake, don't change your avatar!

avatar

Thanks so much, Gotalife--your post made my day! To you and to Hillary. Her speech at the convention was wonderful.

avatar

After I rec this post, I'm going to lay down for a while. Upon seeing this plus the avatar, my jaw dropped so fast that its resulting collision with the floor has left me slightly concussed.

avatar

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!!! FOR EVERYONE!!!

There were a lot of hard feelings and harsh words during the Obama-Hillary contest (some of them mine). We didn't see or appreciate that we were so fortunate to have two strong, able, sincere GROWN-UPS challenging one another. The current battle, which feels like it is between real life and some mindless, comic book version that too many people are buying into, it makes all the senser in the world that those two candidates, and their supporters, are joining together with surprisingly little difficulty. Sense v. Dangerous Nonsense is a much more significant divide than race, gender, or the particulars of quite similar health care proposals.

If anyone hasn't seen the video forum with Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton on women's issues, you should do so. They see what is at stake so clearly and their equal determination to get a Democratic administration is very evident.
I think they (and Obama and other former competitors) realize that if the American people are lured or tricked into asking for more of the bilge we've been swallowing for 8 years, something will be irretrievably lost. Given the utter mess there will be to clean up, there are more than enough important starring roles for all good, strong leaders. That link is here:
http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/wfovideoforum

I'm so pleased about this post of yours, Gotalife. Thanks to Hillary for "sending" you.

True - but it wasn't just here. I was having an email conversation with an old friend this morning and he was talking about the animosity that occurred during the primary and kept on going afterward on another board.

I saw it all over and it grew as the thing went along, of course.

I'm just so glad it's over.

I mean that.

avatar

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!! FOR HILLARY!!!

and MCCAIN!!!!

!!!McManyMansionsMentum™!!!!

Well, color me all tingly.

I guess the primary season is really, truly, actually over.

Nothing can stop us now!

Welcome and love the avatar!

Is this a joke? Wow... I mean, I thought it must have been at first. All I can say is: thank you, gotalife. It means a lot.

avatar

I guess anything is possible since just this week two staunch relatives actually changed from a lifetime of voting republican to being excited about Obama, they were lukewarm about Mc Cain & his pick of Palin did not thrill them in the least,In fact thought it a lousy pick.

You have played us in the past, so will wait to be convinced, maybe just toying with us?

I love the new avatar, too, gotalife.

:)

avatar

Here's to ya, gotalife!!!!!

avatar

Right on.

I just hope that Obama didn't pick her for VP because he has something far better in mind - something that will drive the right wing completely nuts for decades to come:

Justice Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I knew you had chutzpah.

avatar

This Hillary supporter will be voting for McCain.

The best possible outcome is President McCain with a Democratic Congress.

That would make you a McCain and gop supporter not a Hillary supporter.

If you are a Puma from No Quarter, please pass my message on this post to Matthew Weaver over there for me.

They banned me for following Hillary's leadership over there.

Weird huh?

avatar

an idiotic troll who agrees with you is still an idiotic troll.

Respect, Empower, Include only goes so far.

I will exercise cautious optimism.
But for now, gotlife, welcome to the Movement. Let's save our nation.

Nice move having President Clinton's economic team meeting and press conference after the meltdown.

Then all past Sec. of States endorsed Obama's positions on closing gitmo, talking to Iran and reaching out to the world to restore our reputation the gop destroyed like our economy.

The Clinton's will be campaigning to seal the deal this cycle for Obama.

Obama will win.
