Hillary Clinton SPEAKS, her response to the Republican National Convention!

avatar

Hillary Clinton just released this statement: "The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin do not."

"After listening to all the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to Fix the economy for middle-class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces. So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN."

I'll be on the campaign trail for Obama Biden on Monday!

Reading that has gotten me FIRED UP!

Hillary's speech is just typical weak-ass Democratic blather. None of those wussies have any conviction about fuck-all!

You call Hillary's fuddy-duddy tut-tutting criticism of the sadistic perverts Palin and McCain?

It sounds like somebody spilled a cup of tea at her teaparty!

For the real deal, read this.

Jacob, you know the Dems don't want to go there...Torture and sadism are all-American values.

Very solid. Good stuff. It takes a village.

I have a strong feeling Hillary's not especially interested in the idea of Sarah Palin "carrying the torch" for her.

I think you are probably right.

Hillary Clinton is a joke.

She didn't fight for her 18 million voters, which cost her.

She's mad because Sarah Palin is going to be the first woman vice president and she ain't.

Poor Hillary!!!!

anyways, Go McCain / Palin

Vote for Ignorance! McCain/Palin 08!

Why do these kinds of comments always read like they originate from the overseas porn-spam factory?

My precious!

Palin08, Palin with all of her lies and criminal background will be the joke. This woman has a lot to hide. I can assure you we all are waiting for the next bombshell. Just to let you know Americans would never vote for Palin to be Vice President. I mean true Americans not traders.

golly, gee, Palin08, when do we get to hear the spiffy ms palin reply to real questions from real journalists? when do we get to hear her justify your confidence in her ability by answering instead of preaching her vile sermon? when will she come out of hiding and talk to the real people of this country [who she 'is going to washington to represent']? Maybe she'll be finished reading her talking points [if we don't interrupt her with a nagging debate with an old washington insider] by, like, maybe, November 3rd?
golly, can't wait!!

What the hell? That reads like Bill Burton wrote it..

Don't bother Palin08 with the facts.

Don't bother Palin08 with the facts.

Don't bother Palin08 with the facts.

Way to go, Hillary! I hope she just lets herself be seen -- out there on the trail and on the TV shows, etc.. Letting folks see the real is the best way to expose the fake. I had LOTS of problems with HRC during the primaries, as some may recall ..... but never in my life have I considered her a shallow, brittle, opportunistic fake. Which is the polite version of my opinion of Palin. (AND I still believe that Hillary may wind up happier and more on her OWN feet in a cabinet, court, or 'czar' position or as a Senate heavyweight.)

Gloria Steinem's message yesterday:
"To vote in protest for McCain/Palin would be like saying, 'Somebody stole my shoes, so I'll amputate my legs.'"

Wow, I think Palin may do more to unify the Democr4atic party than we could have imagined. For one, compared to Palin, Hillary's experience and knowledge makes her look like Abe Lincoln vs. Daffy Duck.

Heh, the only real Republican I know -- and he's the real deal, pro-war, pro-life, country first, McCain can best represent our interests -- is pretty doubtful about Palin. He doesn't want to question the party line too much, and it won't change his vote, but he says only time will tell wither picking Palin was a game-changing mistake for McCain.

He's been a McCain supporter since 2000. I should ask him whether he still sees the "maverick" he first came to support. Like John Kerry said, it's Candidate McCain vs. Senator McCain now.

Sadly, there's no chance he'll switch his vote to Obama, because Obama doesn't support anything my friend believes in. My friend will hold his nose if necessary to vote for McCain/Palin. Strangely, he is determined to vote for the male/female ticket even though Obama and Biden are both men, just like him. Weird, isn't it??

Would've been nice to see her actually speaking those words - on every morning show the day after the speech. I mean, is she too busy with other things?

Disagree on this one. Biden covered those next-morning shows (appropriately, since he's her "peer" so to speak -- and nicely, I thought, but then I'm biased). I think it's more important for her to speak *after* the Rep convention has ended -- her statements, which a lot of people will listen to carefully, would have had a much shorter shelf-life with McCain's speech and the end of the convention coming right after.

I like it - it sticks right to the Obama Campaign theme and emphasizes the issues.

If I'm not mistaken - and I'm not - Barbara Boxer went to town on Ms. Sarah yesterday and Sebelius took a couple of shots, too.

That's working both sides of this very well indeed, IMO.

Schultz of Florida also whupped Palin upside the head -- but without being offensive. Without being a "pitbull[shitter] with lipstick".

I don't know why any Democrat would doubt or question Hillary: nothing to worry about with her or Bill -- they made that clear at the Convention. I was originally for Hillary. But Obama is a man of substance. McSame-Palin? A man of bile: if not for hate-speech, Republicans would be mute.

Debbie WS is a top notch surrogate and boy am I happy to have her on my side now.

Its been really good to see the Clintonistas come to terms with Obama being our candidate. My one true love , absolutely needed to be convinced that Obama could win. Then my one true love saw Hillary give that spine tingling endorsement speech for Obama in Denver -and she was on board completely.
Now when my o.t.l (aka spouse ) got briefed on Palin 's pandering -well now the gloves are off , the GOP VP nominee has galavanized every self respecting PUMA feminist anywhere & everywhere-
Thats a very good thing -in short Palin energized our Base too ..

I for once really feel for Clinton. Can you imagine how it must be for her having to stick up for the man who beat her, doomed her `historic` candidacy, and at the same time cope with seeing a completely novice woman, no experience, elevated to a White House ticket, where she and her supporters believe she should be?
Tis more than the soul should be expected to wear.
No wonder her supporters are damping down expectations about how much she'll stump for Obama, pointing out that she's heavily booked to be out there for Senate campaigns.

Palin is a fraud who will be found out. Hillery will be on his trail.
