Drop SARAH PALIN like a BAD HABIT!!! WE are running the McCAIN/BUSH/ROVE playbook for them!!
At some point Sarah Palin is going to have to start saying "I'm Sarah Palin and I approve this message."
The media is running the McCAIN/BUSH/ROVE Playbook.
WE HAVE BEEN TOO! ENOUGH!!!
Because of this the MSM, us and pretty much everyone else has totally lost their way on what this campaign is all about.
Do we want to make this election about about Sarah Palin and whether or not she is qualified to be the Prez? I think not.
So I Urge everyone don't get BLOGGED down in the bullshit and lies Sarah Palin is regurgitating. We need to
be digging up all the dirt we can find and verify on
John Sidney McCain, and tell everyone that will listen, just EXACTLY how bad it will get if John McCain gets elected President of The United States.
We need to tell people that if they want their children to be drafted go ahead and vote for John McCain. We need to tell people that if they want their health care benefits TAXED go ahead and vote for John McCain. We need to tell people that if they feel they can get health insurance for their ENTIRE family with the $5000 tax credit McCain proposes the go ahead and vote for John McCain.
We need to make sure that EVERYONE knows that John McCain has made a HARD RIGHT TURN from the person they thought they knew. We need to make sure that EVERYONE knows that John McCain will appoint Supreme Court and Federal judges that think it is OK for the government to spy on its' own citizens. We need to make sure that EVERYONE knows that John McCain is so far in bed with lobbyists he has to climb over 30 or 40 people just to get out of that bed. We need to make sure that EVERYONE knows that John McCain will GIVE MORE TAX CUTS to big business and the most wealthy of America.
We need to make sure that EVERYONE knows that John McCain will continue the BUSH TAX CUTS to big business that SHIP JOBS OVERSEAS. Etc...etc...etc...
SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

Forget Palin, McCain's got the ball!!
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/09/forget-palin-go-after-mccain.php
Slate's Bruce Reed has similar thoughts:
Third, and most important, voters don't need our help to figure this out. In the end, they'll be the best and toughest judge of whether or not Sarah Palin is ready. Back in 1988, the Dukakis campaign actually ran an ad against Dan Quayle. It didn't work, and wasn't necessary. In any case, Quayle had only himself to blame for falling flat on the national stage. By straining so hard to compare himself to JFK on the campaign trail, he practically wrote Bentsen's famous line for him.

Please tell us what health care "taxes" you pay?
September 12, 2008 9:19 PM | Reply | Permalink
You currently pay taxes on money that is earned by you but paid out to purchase health care, so you're right, the term "health care taxes" isn't correct. What is NOT taxed to you as income now but would be under the McCain plan is the money an employer pays to purchase "employer-provided" health care.
Example: I (luckily) work for an employer that charges the workers very little for their contribution to health care -- say $30 a month -- but the policy I get costs a lot more -- say $500 a month (going by what my friends who have to get their own who are paying $500/month). Currently I pay income tax on $30; the $470 my employer chips in is not counted as income to me. Under McCain's plan, I would get the same benefits - no more and no less - but I would be paying income tax on $500 per month.
And - if I understand his proposal correctly - if I don't like the idea of doing that, I can opt out of my employer's plan, get an additional $500 in income (taxed, of course) and purchase my own on the "open market" If I'm young and healthy, I might be able to find a catastrophic-only policy for, say, $300 ....... but the employer-purchased policies will go up (b/c the young and healthy are opting out, reduced numbers and greater costs in the groups) AND older, less-healthy individuals will have to pay more on individual policies (again b/c young and healthy ones are getting catastrophic-only) or be denied altogether (b/c 'preexisting conditions). AND because they don't have coverage for the regular medical care and monitoring, those young and healthy people may save money when they are young but will be more costly to insure and have to pay more, or be denied coverage, when they are older.
See why McCain doesn't want to talk issues??

Please don't feed the republican arsenal by repeating untruths. McCain may not have a good health care plan, but he won't increase healthcare taxes. Corporate provided tax free healthcare insurance benefits the rich as they pay more tax so they save more by not having to pay for their health care benefits. McCain won't simply get rid of this tax free benefit, he will create a tax credit that will give $5k for families. If you were a family receiving the average $12K in tax free health insurance from their job, the tax savings is approximately $3500. Receiving 5K in a credit is a surplus, not a loss. That being said, 5K won't do much get people insured, without a proper balanced risk pool for them to join, and a 7K deficit. Please don't perpetuate this attack line by democrats bc some republican will show what I have shown and make Obama look foolish when in fact Obama's health care plan is far superior to McCain's.

IRB,
You're right, he won't "increase" our healthcare taxes" but only because we don't currently pay taxes on our healthcare benefits. BUT McCain's proposal would start making people pay income taxes on that part of our health care benefit paid by employers. AND worse still he is playing the role of the "HEALTHCARE ANTIROBINHOOD" he is going to take from those that have employer based healthcare and give $5 grand to those that have no healthcare- or like a lot of the wealthy, have individual health insurance policies.
It is just another example of the GOP and its' candidates, elected officials and their Big Thinkers robbing from the poor to give to the rich.

Damn right.
I'll go one further. If you see a "news" organization running Palin fluff, get ahold of them and RAISE HELL.
Tell them THEIR PRODUCT has become tabloid bullshit and your dumping THEIR PRODUCT for something with more substance. Tell them you don't give a shit about Palin, and you want to hear more about the issues that matter in this election (Iraq, FEMA, economy, etc.)
Make sure you slay them with specific details about the story you saw, so they know you actually are a "customer."
This shit works, but it only works if we take the time to do it!

Obama ('may have') lost this election by snubbing Hillary.
The Biden choice said this to the world:
"I'm Barrack Obama, and I need the steady hand of an old man to help me be president."
"I'm Barrack Obama, I represent a changing of the guard from one generation to another - except this old guy is from the old generation."
Only God knows what the hell he was thinking in picking Biden - maybe he thought Hillary would be too much of a handful.
Well, now we'll never know since BO managed to lose the election with his TERRIBLE judgement.
President Pallin - that's what we're going to eventually get thanks to Obama's hubris.

Bullshit! It will be because of people who supported her are sulking and can't get beyond woulda/coulda/shoulda.
Don't think for a moment that the Reps. wouldn't have him tied up in knots and packaged away by now if he'd selected Hillary -- Energize all their base that hates the Clintons, bring out all the BS from the Clinton years (which he never touched -- but how many 'blue dress' cracks do you want to hear?), and tell everyone that the person they are running for Pres is a weak figurehead who couldn't even select his own VP and won't be running things if his ticket gets elected.
Save it for Nov. 5th. It's a given that the Dems will eat their own and blame it all on him (as they did on Gore and Kerry) if he loses, so save it for then). Doesn't the fact that Sarah Palin - of all people!!! -- is stoking this fire tell you that this is JUST the kind of resentment they want to foster?

Drop Senator Hair Plugs and Senator B. Hussein Obama, put Hillary in there at the top of the ticket. Barry's manhood were cut off by the Reverend J. Jackson, Jr. Barry is a LOSER, "The One" is yesterday. Palin is the IT girl! McCain 2008/Clinton 2012!

Valiant attempt MP but I can't take anyone that drops Obama's first name and uses Hussein serious, it's a first grade mentality, and really sounds like you are desperate.
If Obama doesn't win (and I think he will),
Clinton(s) will be blamed and suffer 4 years from now.

After Barry loses, it will be 1972 all over again at the DNC. The purge of Barry fans, stupid caucus procedures and proportional distribution will be gone.
KOS, PMSNBC, TPM, ObamaPost, Move-out and other sleazebags will be on the outside looking in. In other words, go find another party...maybe Ralph Nader or Bob Barr. Your kind will not be welcome as Democrats. DLC will resurrect into the Clinton party, part II.
Democrats will become mainstream Americans again, not socialist lazy "me now" assholes as is obviously the case today.

Obama needs to run against the Republican party, not Palin or McCain.
Run against Republican corruption.
Run against Republican Iraq war.
Run against Republican budget busting.
Run against Republican mismanagement.
Run against Republican banking disaster.
Run against Republican abuse of the Constitution.
Run against Republican filibusters (in record numbers) and vetoes.
Talk about a target rich environment! It is the Republican brand that stinks- go after it.
Not only does hitting the Republican brand and all who are attached to it help Obama, it helps all Democrats running for office.
I constantly hear McCain blaming problems on the "Democrat controlled Congress" without anyone firing back that the Republicans filibuster or veto every Dem bill that might make a difference.

I agree with the drop SP strategy.
This campaign needs to be about Dems vs Repugs, not Obama vs McCain or Palin.
Who's been running the government? The Republicans.
Who ran this country into the gutter? The republicans.
If they make the BS claim that it's the Dem Congress's fault, point out the record number of filibusters by the Repubs. And Bush's Vetoes. And Iraq, the deficit, Katrina, the corruption, wiretapping, etc have nothing to do with the Dems.

I believe we need to attack McPalin in lieu of the Obama campaign.

More lies and more lies of omission all the time. Republicans and the military's generals do not want a draft. John McCain doesn't want a draft.
Check into who the members of Congress pushing for a draft have been and you'll see a (D) next to their name. I'll give a hint as to the most prominent: he has been getting sweetheart deals on apartments in New York City. Search the Internet for information on him and see what you can Rangel up.....
