BRING BACK TIM RUSSERT! DUMP THE POTATO!!!

God, I miss Tim Russert.  I'm just watching Meet the Press, and I've decided that Tom Brokaw is completely worthless.  He just sits there like a potato, letting these liars spew their moronic, dishonest crap, completely unchallenged by the facts.  The most important election of our lifetimes, and Tom Brokaw is planning to serve us this lukewarm pablum from now until election day?  America is so screwed.  Right now--today--we need someone with a spine and a little fire in his belly.  David Gregory.  Campbell Brown.  Joy Behar.  ANYONE!  Tim! Come back!

The netroots must organize immediately to put pressure on NBC to replace Brokaw.  Write letters!  Make speeches from tree stumps!  Storm the citadels!

DUMP THE POTATO!  DUMP THE POTATO!  DUMP THE POTATO!  DUMP THE POTATO!

Meet The Press hasa a nice feedback feature on their web site - send them an email and voice your complaints. I was on there last night asking them to grow a spine...enough emails seem to get their attention.

Remember not to be to inflamitory or they will dismiss you as a left-leaning whack job...just the facts should do it!

I wrote to them about five minutes ago. I called Brokaw a potato and a soggy slice of milquetoast. Do you think that was too inflammatory? *:o)

LOL - Not if it made better!

Brokaw ought to get a room with Cokie Roberts.

Gregory? Brown? You've got to be kidding?!

David Gregory, just before Obama gave his speech at the Dem convention, remarked: "There is Obama's Parthenon!" [ie, a republican talking point]

And Campbell Bown only stuck it to Tucker because her husband was on Mitt Romney's staff. She is a hack.

Frankly, Tim Russert's boring approach, of reaching back to old quotes and confronting every single person with those samples seemed simple-minded to me. He was a nice guy, but he infuriated me with his canned method of interviewing.

Yeah, well, obviously I wasn't seriously suggesting Joy Behar either. I was just making the point that Tom Brokaw sucks so bad that just about anyone could do a better job. Before Russert took over, Meet the Press was on life support. It's headed back to where it came from.

This election season, we need someone who's going to ask tough questions and then FOLLOW THEM UP by refusing to accept talking points as a substitute for direct answers. Brokaw is not that person.

Yeah, I miss Russert's masterful "gotcha" questions too.

Brokaw's a multimillionaire seat-filler. Why should he care?
