It takes you to Brad Delong and then move down to the DRAFT.

Sort of on the back of a post card Delong takes us through what we're spending money on now  and what we'd have to do to cease being stupid..

You don't have to agree with Delong to see that it's not
impossible-yet-for this country to recover from the hole which the Republicans have dug and to do it without abandoning any hope of living as well as the average Luxembourgher.

But this may be the last chance.

Nothing sharpens the appreciation of how much something costs as the payment for it.

If there were to be a political movement that clutched Brad's list in their strongest hand, the idea would inevitably confront the majority that hopes to delegate such negativity to extremes that are easily ignored.

It is a wacky world when the idea of fiscal responsibility is treated as an idealogical assault upon the new world order. But that is the lay of the land. The conditions suggest that only an experience distinctly less pleasant than the citizens of Luxembourg are accustomed to will bring the account to the attention of the persons carrying the debt.
