Who is BEST?

As an independent I take this election thing seriously because I am counted among those who cannot make up their minds.  It couldn't be more true.  One day it's the young guy, next day it's the old guy.  Then I hear he's in favor of nuclear power plants, then I'm for the young guy again.  Then I hear he favors something just as awful:  taxes.  I can't get a break, so I read and listen to everything I can get my hands on and decide it's me.  I'm the problem.  I have no values or this would be easy.  Help!

This is pretty funny. I especially liked:

Then I hear he favors something just as awful [as nuclear power]: taxes.

Made me laugh at work :)

Please don't vote.

Taxes! OMG Carol only if you are making above 250K if not you are getting a tax cut. Then again if you are making above 250K is it going to be all that painful?

No offense, but if you are hanging out on the blogs how could you possibly be this low on info?

And as a woman I have to ask how is McCain even on your mind?

OK, since you asked - Obama is best.

I see two polar opposites when I look at Obama and McCain.

I do not struggle to choose between them as I did in 2004, among the Democratic primary candidates.

I did not waffle between Bush and Kerry, or Bush and Gore, or Clinton and Dole, or Clinton and Bush and Perot or Bush and Dukakis or Reagan and Mondale or Reagan and Carter or Carter and Ford or Nixon and McGovern or Nixon and Humphrey (although I was too young to vote in that election.)

Serious question: How can you not have formed an opinion, even a rudimentary opinion, if not on the candidate, then on the issues?

More war? Vote McCain. Taxes in one form or another are inevitable. Do you think corporations and wealthy people should pay proportionately more since they have more? Vote Obama. Do you think affordable healthcare is important? Vote Obama. Believe in global warming and environmental issues? Vote Obama. Believe in a woman's right to reproductive freedom? Vote Obama. Loved the Bush years and want more of the same? Vote McCain. Hated them? Vote Obama.

What's so hard about that?

Carol,

First, get some values. Second, get informed. The rest will natually follow.
