Was Sarah Palin fully Vetted? Could she be the Female Eagleton?
McCain met her once. Was Sarah Palin fully Vetted? Is she hiding the poarentage of the new baby?

There has been a rumor swirling in AK for months that she was not really pregnant and claims parentage of her oldest daughter's child...
While this is all speculation on the national scene now it has been all over AK for months.
So here are the issues:
1) No physical evidence of pregnancy and she told her staff at 7 months and they were stunned
2) Daughter apparently missed months of school due to a bad case of mono
3) Her water broker in TX at a conference. She stayed, gave her speech and then flew home on 2 commercial flights. Commercial airlines have strict rules on pregnant women flying. Why would she endanger her unborn child like this?
4) Was back at work 3 days after giving birth a full month early
This may all be much ado about nothing. If not McCain;s folks must not have used the Googles as it is all there to see as part of a dossier they would put together.

I suspect it is much ado about nothing, but I'd still like to see them sweat it. In fairness, at least two pieces of speculation in this story are either unsourced or incorrect.
First, Palin flew Alaska Airways. At least one contemporaneous news article regarding Palin's Texas to Alaska flight quoted an Alaska Airlines spokesperson as saying the company has no rules against pregnancy beyond a specific time. So she was not breaking the airlines rules.
The other item is regarding her daughter's prolonged absence from school. That I can't find any documentation of, outside references in blogs. And if I don't believe unsubstantiated rumors about Obama, it's only fair to require proof here.
That said, there don't seem to be any pictures of Palin visibly discernible as pregnant with this last child and several as late as 7 months into her pregnancy that show absolutely no bulge at all.
You know, if this rumor were about Michelle Obama, the Post would be all over it. I wonder if the Enquirer is...

It's a compelling rumor, especially since several photos show Bristol (the daughter) with a slight bulge. Gov. Palin may be a super fit runner, but it seems astonishingly unlikely that she could be seven months pregnant without showing. Of course, her advanced age correlating to Trig's Down's Syndrome would indicate that the baby is indeed hers. Given that the Edwards story turned out to be true, I agree that the story warrants further investigation, although it should be fairly easy to investigate, assuming that Gov. Palin will allow access to her medical records, which is the norm for candidates.

I agree with both of you. I do not like these rumors and frankly hope they are not true but the evidence and circumstances point there. The pictures are odd. I have never seen any woman get past 4 months not showing, unless overweight and Palin is quite fit and trim. Her staff was stunned.
The fact the her water broke and she gave her speech is odd enough but just may be that Alaska thing. Getting on an airplane to fly that far when you know the water broke borders on negligence and I do not see this mother of 5 as irresponsible at all so the issue then is was she really pregnant? If so why risk the child's life flying? Esp. when you knew it was special need already?
Worst case scenario here is this decision and behavior would show people she makes bad decisions and would turn off more women.
Think about it - What woman in her right mind - or husband would allow it - would get on an airplane for any length flight -let alone an 8 hour one - and endanger the infant's life?
