Wake up call for Obama
Barack,
It's not 3AM but I'm ringing the phone. Robert Scheer at truthdig.com says one of the instigators of Georgian aggressiveness may have been the McCain adviser who used to be a lobbyist for the Georgian government. Thhis august surprise may be designed to make you look hesitant and John McCain look decisive. Michael Moore at Michaelmoore.com is worried writing about 6 ways the election could be blown. McCain ads are all over my local airwaves here in Philadelphia. You are on vacation in Hawaii. Hello! Wake up! The future of our country is at stake.

Good point about foreign worries helping McCain. Simply stirring shit up, or even just allowing it to happen, will keep people unsettled, perhaps. Any headline-causing "threat" allows the "I'm military, you're not" crap.
One reason I like Clark for VP. He outranks McCain, putting it mildly.

Maybe this conflict would have been good for McCain in the 20th century, but not in the 21st.
IMHO, every time national security comes up, it's not good for McCain. For every foreign provocation/perceived threat that has occurred since Vietnam, his choice has been to respond with military force.
McCain=war.
Remember that McCain backed the military part of the surge and paid no mind to the diplomatic surge. Even his definition of the success of the surge completely excludes the lack of any significant political reconciliation.
Diplomacy is not in the McCain dictionary.
Imagine a commercial that showed what McCain would have done, based on his voting record and opinions, in response to every conflict since Vietnam.
What would the world be like now?

I agree Clark would be a good choice for VP. I hope it happens soon. I think it will.
Obama needs someone to be his Liebermann. LOL

Picking Clark would be publicly acknowledging what you are saying here. Obama has no credibility as CIC with the electorate. He won't get it by picking someone as VP who does. His own shortcomings will just be more apparent. He cannot afford to look like he's hiding behind Clark. If he hides behind anyone, it will have to be someone he beat out for the CIC role who can then take McCain on as "not as good as Obama" but better than you, McCain. That means Biden, Dodd or Clinton, don't you think?

I don't see what you're suggesting he should do? Go to Russia and kick some ass?
