The Penn Tapes (?)
So ... when will we learn the contents of the tapes? Penn's 12/30/2007 memo references "the tapes" twice: On page 8, he says "Release the Tapes." Then, on page 9, he says "... and then if he denies he ever took all the other positions, release the tapes showing he was not straight with the voters. This could shake up the race."
Interestingly, in his Politico article published today, Negative ads: They really do work, Penn says, "So far in the 2008 contest, neither candidate has connected with any ads that explosive. But fresh information about their past views in their own words could shake up the race."
Question: Could there be anything there that we haven't already heard? Or, much ado about nothing?
