The lies continue
I heard John McCain last night at the Saddleback Forum. When asked to name a Supreme Court justice that he would not have nominated as President, he named Ginsberg, Breyer, Souter, and Stevens. Checking the roll call votes for each of these, McCain did not vote for Stevens as he was nominated in 1975 by President Ford and McCain was not in the Senate at that time. He voted "Yea" for all of the other 3. It's a bit peculiar that he would not have nominated them but voted for their appointment. Unless we are to believe that McCain believes that because a President nominates the Senate must confirm. That would be scary.

Excellent catch. I hope people are digging through every pander and lie from his performance to tear it apart like this. Keep up to great work!

Thanks for looking into the matter.

Thanks so much for checking on that. I personally was shocked that he even could come up with all the names, but when I thought about it, he was obviously prepped. Remember after the abortion question when he asked if it was time to talk about the Supreme Court?
TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE SUPREME COURT? Like he kinda knew it was coming up?
But your catch is masterful! Thanks!

Even I have to admit, though, that you might vote to approve of a Justice that you might not have nominated. That is why the questions were simplistic and geared to help McCain's lameness.

The courage of your conviction, eh?
An interesting cliché in light of the serious cognitive dissidence McCain should be wrestling with; his voting record vs. yesterday's pandering.
Is their video of these votes being cast? Would make for a great contrast add.
I would love to see his campaign spin that.
I'm sure it would be similar to their rhetoric about his first wife. That was oh soo many years ago. That doesn't count; all the while touting his oh so many years ago character building POW status and hoping no one connects the dots.
McCain’s camp should not be allowed to have it both ways.

So how does his camp "clarify" his vote?
Was that his Original Maverick-ness (as his ads would say), or his reformed Maverickness that should not now count if you happen to be a right wing, evangelical base voter?
