Republicans for Obama - Pass it Along!

A new organization has emerged.  Republicans for Obama consists of some well known Republicans who do not think McCain is the answer to any question.

This group of Republicans have decided to put country first.

Pass this along to any of your friends who might think about voting for McCain.  It doesn't have to be about party.  It has to, for once, be about US. (And don't forget to watch this terrifying McCain video - and pass it along, too.)

If you know Republicans who are voting for McCain, get this information to them.  If they don't like Obama, FINE!

- Persuade them to vote for Barr.
- Persuade them to vote for McKinney.
- Persuade them to vote for Nader.
- Persuade them to write in Ron Paul.

Any vote not cast for McCain is a win for our country.

Recommend this should you find it worthwhile.

And remember that every one of us knows someone who is voting for, or leaning towards McCain.  Every one of us has to do our part.

Thanks for the link! Don't know why I didn't even think of looking for a site like this...signed up and good to go. Rec'd your post!

I was thrilled when I saw this group emerge.

I thought that most Republicans had gone the scorched earth route of only Dem or GOP. With nothing in the middle, with no one willing to bend, everyone loses. And I am really happy to see that there are some intelligent people out there.

Sadly, I must admit, I didn't think that there were Republicans like this any longer. I am enormously happy to say that I was mistaken.

I'm one of those in the middle people that recognize that COMPROMISE (aka - dirty word around here!) is the only thing that is going to get this polarized country moving forward. I AM one of those Republicans, as is Jason, now, as I'm sure you've heard (and I think there are others lurking around here!)

I'm just ecstatic that there is a formal group...I'm not sure why you aren't getting more rec's...this place makes me a little crazy now and then!

Awesome news. I have seen a lot of stalwart republicans articulating the same message as the reality of the Reagan legacy comes home to roost. The last real republican we had in the White House was Ike.

Sensible conservatives, if there are any left, will find it hard to vote for the dishonorable, lobbyist-addled, economically-clueless, war-mongering, serial-adulterer McBush.

You can usually identify the sensible conservatives by their willingness to defend the separation of church and state AND abortion rights.

One need not be in favor of outlawing abortion to think it's the taking of a life.

I call the social crusaders rightwingfucknuts.

The ones not crusading but tolerating the crusaders are worse than the crusaders themselves.

This Republican for Obama is disgusted by the complete vacuum of accountability that has been the Republican reign in Congress and the White House.

Why the surprise? Oh that's right...we're all "Repugs" and "Rethugs" instead of Americans who recognize the rise of facsism when we see it.

You realize, of course, that smearing Obama with a charge of "f-a-s-c-i-s-m" (you're welcome for the spelling correction, BTW) is exactly the sort of stereotypical GOP vitriol that causes the "Repug"/"Rethug" response.

Well, to be fair, there is a lot of blame for rank & file republicans for the actions of the few at the highest levels.

I don't blame the democrats for letting the DLC drive the county even further toward a corporate state for the last 16 years. I don't castigate the rank and file dems who put Clinton in the White House twice, despite some fairly non-progressive policy moves in concert with Newt's Congress.

I think a little recognition of every American's right to be pissed off at our leaders, conservative and liberal, is what we need right now.

Thanks for the correction but I was referring to the current administration. Your replay was such an amusing knee-jerk response!

Correction: I meant "reply". Undue haste leads to errors. What's your excuse?
