Paul Krugman Calls Out Sidney on the POW card!
Krugman on going negative
I'm not as big of a fan of Krugman as I am of Dowd, but I do enjoy his column. The POW card is slowly being undercut. They said it couldn't be done. It's happening!
Aside from that, Krugman also points out how the tables have turned this election with the GOP nominee being effectively painted as an elitist:
And you might think that a party committed to tax cuts for the rich, aUnfortunately, he misses the point that it's not about how many houses. It's that he doesn't know how many.
party that routinely castigates those who engage in “class warfare,”
would shy away from attacking a Democrat for his wealth. But raw class
envy played an important role in the attacks on Mr. Kerry, whom Rush
Limbaugh described repeatedly as a “gigolo” with a “sugar daddy wife,”
and G.O.P. supporters don’t seem to have experienced any cognitive
dissonance.
Something just occurred to me. Is there any way to use Rush Limpballz' attacks on Kerry, against Sidney? Could that be made into an effective line of attack?

I think the best way to counter the POW card is to directly call McCain out on it. The trick is to frame such calling out as "innocently" but persistently asking McCain to explain what his haven been a POW has to do with his current policies in running for president.
The Dems. can't get weak kneed when doing this. McCain will squeal louder in order to scare us off. The response should be to calmly and persistently ask him to clearly explain to the voters the POW connection to his policies.
McCain is like a barking dog. The Dems. get too close to his front yard on some campaign issue and the dog barks POW. The Dems. get intimidated thatthe barking dog might bite.
Well, I think its time to see if that dog has teeth. McCain's POW barking has had the same deterrent effect as an actual bite. But this assumes the dog has real teeth. It is time to find out if McCain has any real teeth (no old man jokes, please), and if he does, to start muzzling him
