palin daughter baby
There are rumors/stories floating around the internet that Palin may have not been pregneant with their fifth child. The story goes that her oldest daughter was actually pregneant and hid at home while pregneant. She as pulled out of school for 5 months with "mono."
This story should be persued and seems viable. A woman at her advanced age is not likely to get pregneant naturally. It is possible, but not as likely as a thirty year old. Also someone with her religious views would not seek fertility treatments because it goes against her beliefs.

A stupid post from a first-time poster. Do you honestly think Obama will score points by pushing this convoluted story? Are you anywhere close to wanting him elected?

Look what the National Enquirer did to John Edwards. She will be exposed as a LIAR!

"Do you honestly think Obama will score points by pushing this convoluted story?"
OOOPPS bad timing, Ripper. LOL
And, and, and, McCain KNEW the daughter was pregnant when he picked her Hockey Mom as his VP choice! Yeah, right. LOL
Truth is stranger than fiction.
I can already hear the late night folks, "Yep, the Hockey Mom's really experienced all right, at PUCKING!!" LOL
McBush has turned into the joke he is.
Obama will be able to mail this one in.

This rumor had been going around Alaska for quite some time now. How can you possibly blame Obama for this? Do you honestly think he has nothing better to do than cook-up far out rumors like this?

I don't blame Obama. I blame the idiots who think he should adopt this story as a talking point.

Where does the poster suggest Obama make any statements on this matter?

No one asked Obama to persue this story. This potential story is more about the hypocrisy at the root of the Republican party. Rather than the actual literal story.

I'm with Ripper on this one.
Are you and Marietta familiar with the term "agent provocateur?"
Not recommended.
One doesn't have to dredge up this kind of dirt to find examples of Republican hypocrisy.
See the plentiful posts about Palin's abuse of power if you want to criticize her.
I know the baby story is out there, but we on this site don't have anything factual to add, do we? Leave it alone.
I really do believe the rumor is being pushed by trolls so Karl Rove can hold Palin up as a martyr to "liberal bloggers" and "Obama supporters" when the story is eventually debunked.
And by the way, it wouldn't be a scandal, even if it were true.
For centuries, and in societies around the world, it's been the time-honored way for a family to preserve a daughter's honor.

Au contraire, there may be more dirt here, and it may branch out to ensnare others in and out of the Palin family.
With luck, this situation may prove to top even the Schiavo episode for making public the vicious hypocrisy of the right-wing so-called Christians, whose main preoccupation (after the Gospel of Wealth) is finding fault with the human behavior of others.

Actually this is not as outrageous as it originally sounds.I'm not saying it is true. There is no real "evidence". But there are a number of unusual circumstances regarding the pregnancy and delivery I find intriguing.
A lot of details can be found here:

Very questionable situation.

If this baby was her daughter's or someone else's, then a much more interesting headline and meme would be: "The father of 'Palin's fifth child' is NOT her husband. Who is the baby's father?"
(This is a serious comment, Palin having to defend her initial lie (if there is one) could weave a terrible web of deception that could totally unravel her wholesome mother of five story.)

Since there is no evidence to support this, then all you are engaging is the reckless smearing of a teenage girl, and a baby girl.
Shame on you.

This is a domestic family
story. If this child is her daughter's, more power to the family for choosing their way to deal with it. It wouldn't in a million years be my way, but it is none of my business. Compassion for the daughter fits with my values, even if the story is true, but what if it is not? And what damage does trying to prove it make?
There are so many other fronts that are relevant to governing on which to make one's case. This story isn't necessary to show she has rash judgment. How about Dairygate, how about Troopergate, how about her hardball tactics with other firings and then hiring of unqualifieds? And then how about waiting to see how she comports herself on understanding either foreign policy or the rest of the U.S., urban issues, etc.
Please don't gin up this pregnancy mystery, I see it as a moral issue to refrain. There is a teenager at stake.

Hey, guys, nobody here is a member of the Obama campaign. We're members of the electorate. So, chill on telling people what they can and cannot mention. This is going to be getting play.
I've seen the photos of Sarah Palin when she was supposedly weeks from giving birth to the most recent (5th) kid. Her stomach was washboard flat. The New York Daily News also has a pic of her when she actually WAS pregnant (probably 4th kid), and she was HUGE. I mean, man, she could have been carrying quads. Women don't tend to carry their fifth kids invisibly, especially not when they've ballooned with earlier ones.
No way did she had a baby back in April. And since I'm not a member of any campaign, but a voter, I can say so.
The National Enquirer or some similar rag will be all over this by next week, just as they were w/the Edwards affair. You can't keep something like this under wraps. And it will be bye-bye Sarah without Obama ever having mentioned it.

It's not about the dear little baby, it's about his dishonest, hyper-political mother/grandmother.
The most repeated Republican talking point for Palin has been, "she not only talks the talk, she walks the walk." The walk was her decision to continue her pregnancy after she found out the baby had Downs Syndrome.
"Not only is she 'pro-life' she actually just came through a real life experience showing she has the courage of her convictions."
This "walk the walk" and the parading of the little guy when she accepted John McCain's offer is the most annoying part of her pr package. Exploiting a baby for political purposes, ick!
Facts:
None of her co-workers knew she was pregnant until she announced at 7 months. Photos of her during her 'pregnancy' are being scrubbed from the internet. No doctor would advise an 8 hour flight for a woman who was leaking amniotic fluid. Her daughter had to be in seclusion for 5 months for mono as opposed to the usual 2 weeks. No there is no evidence here whatsoever.

Don't touch this. Leave it for the tabloids. If it goes public and is proved false, Gov. Palin will be immune from other, more legitimate, muckraking.

Agathena, could you confirm this fact, "Her daughter had to be in seclusion for 5 months for mono as opposed to the usual 2 weeks." with a reliable source. The other parts seem to be confirmed by reliable sources (contemporary media reports), but I cannot find confirmation for the mono part.
Posting about the mono part on the internet prior to two days ago would constitute supporting evidence (in my opinion).
Any contemporaneous news reports that mention the eldest daughter having mono for an extended period (or at the time of the birth) would be great to have.
Thanks!

This is a legitimate story with all sorts of suspicious details, i.e. she went into "labor" in Dallas, but flew back to Alaska and drove to a private clinic in Wascilla to "deliver" a premature baby.
What makes this a legitimate story for journalists to investigate is that Palin has claimed that she made the decision to keep the downs baby. However it appears from the chronicle of events that the true story is that her daughter did not reveal the pregnancy to her parents until the third trimester--too late for an elective abortion.
If Palin had not tried to make political hay out of this baby, then it would be best to let it alone, but as it stands she can not be permitted to pretend she took a moral stance when the opposite is true.
The very Conservative base that she pitched the pro-life story to will be less than thrilled with the unwed mother story.

The beef here would be falsification of identity documents, conspiracy, and lying to constituents.
I don't believe it yet, but it makes a hell of a good story and Alaska is buzzing with it. Last week we could have given a sh#t.
This story was making the rounds (unimportantly) before anyone in Alaska thought the Gov was more than way 2nd tier in the veepstakes, which is to say that it likely didn't originate Outside as a hack on McCain-Palin. Oh d'Ear.

This story, if true, really points to her ability to look America in the eye and lie. She's supposed to be a straight shooter, but she's already had to cop to 1 untruth in the troopergate thing.
And to those that say that troopergate is a better story, only Dems care about troopergate. The Pugs couldn't care less about abuse of power; they want their leaders to have more power. This story is the kind that will capture everyone's attention.
But, again, only if it's true... which it probably isn't, or isn't easily verifiable. If I was the National Enquirer tho, I would be up there in a heartbeat. And I would try to figure out who the potential father is... and maybe look for any financial transactions between the 2 families (ooh, now the GOP'rs are gonna slam me)

This issue is relevant and important to this election, because it shows how lax and shoddy the McCain camp operated in vetting Palin, and how they rush to judgement based on their own wishes, regardless of the 'facts on the ground.'

Looks very unlikely with the confirmation that Bristol is presently 5 months pregnant, which would put the conception around the time of Trig's birth.

What "confirmation"?
That'll only come -- 8 weeks after the election -- when the daughter gives (or doesn't give) birth.

This post (and others like it) is misogyny at its classic Rovian best.
Let's question a woman's fertility, sanity, stability, honesty, and fitness to be a mother RATHER THAN assess how she ran the state of Alaska.
Let's examine her body closely by sharing photos and discuss her bodily fluids obsessively.
Let's hypothesize and call it fact.
Let's smear her daughter while we're at it.
Let's not mention the father because that would prevent us from getting our rocks off when we put women in their place.
Anyone promoting, disseminating, or believing this story is a troll. Shameful but not surprising it's the most recommended story at Talking Points Memo for 3 solid days.
