One House, One Spouse, Obama Biden 08
With the smart selection of Joe Biden as VP candidate by Barack Obama, there is a clear choice now for America on economics, empathy and ethics:
One House, One Spouse, Obama/Biden 08.

By the way: Did anybody hear of Vicki Iseman? She has disappeared some months ago ... hope she has not become the victim of a crime ...

"One house, One spouse" is not quite accurate. Joe Biden was married to Neilia Hunter and is married to Jill Tracy Jacobs. With a five year period mourning his first wife's death, while John McCain got a marriage license before he divorced Carol Shepp, you could say:
One house at a time, one spouse at a time
but that is a poor bumper sticker.

I learned that it is a smart move in campaigns and discussions (and in court, as I am a lawyer) to bring an argument that has a minor incorrectness which, however, draws attention to a major weakness of your opponent if and when discussed ... if John McCain wishes to discuss the "first marriage and second marriage" issue with Joe Biden, please go ahead, Mr. McCain ...

That works for me!

There are plenty of other issues on which to take on McCain. Let's leave the personal life out of this, please. That's Rovian, and just not on.
My $.02.

I prefer the One Spouse - One House model.

(I also think putting the spouse before the house sends a stronger message.)
(And I prefer black over pastels.)

Okay, if you want to offend all of the divorcees out there (including the 2004 Dem nominee and many other Dem leaders), and tarnish Obama's image of seemly and sane politics.
There is simply no crime or shame in having more than one house or one spouse. It's not knowing how many houses they have and the manner in which they leave the first spouse that says something about people .... and that certainly doesn't make bumper stickers.

I fully agree with you on a level of personal ethics (and I am far from the "one spouse" thing).
I fully agree with you that it would not be smart if the Obama campaign would use the claim.
But I think that it is a very powerful claim used by private people in their conservative milieu.
The claim was called Rovian in a reply above. Yes, that's what it is.
