Mc Cain & his Models/Beauty Queens
I think the question that should be posed to Senator Mc Cain is, "why did you pick Sarah Palin?" Upon examination, you will find that when faced with the most important questions of his life, he answered in the same way every time. Who will I marry? A swimsuit model.. Who will I leave my injured wife for? A beauty queen. (Junior Rodeo Queen of Arizona) Who will I chose to be my running mate, to be a heartbeat away from the presidency should I win the election? A beauty queen. (Runner-up- Miss Alaska)
Now don't get me wrong. Governor Palin is much more than a beauty queen. In fact, she is a remarkable woman. Being the Governor of any state is a great accomplishment. Combine this with being a mother of five children while juggling the duties of chief executive of a state to means she rivals superwoman. Giving birth to her youngest child while in office only adds to her lore.
But, what is possibly revealing is that -- like the other women in Mc Cains life when he chose them--Palin is cute. Would she win the Mrs. America pageant this year or the next? Probably not. In our society, forty something's have difficult times competing against twenty something's-- in beauty pageants at least. But she is apparently hot enough to be listed as a "VPILF" in countless sites, blogs and You Tube videos within hours of her being tapped by Mc Cain to be his running mate. With Mc Cain being 72 (happy birthday) and Palin being 44, to him not only is she cute, she is also a young, hot chick.
Palin's cuteness would not be an issue if she were a more qualified, cute woman. But because Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Elizabeth Dole, Olympia Snow and other more qualified Republican women are out there --that Palin cannot hold a candle to-- Mc Cain, in my opinion has some explaining to do. Why didn't he pick any of the above women? If he had picked Hutchinson he would have had nothing to explain. She or any of the others undoubtedly would have been considered to be solid picks, and much more likely to pick off dissatisfied Hillary voters for the Mc Cain camp. So, why didn't he pick a more qualified Republican woman? In my opinion, either he has a need to be around younger women/beauty queens/models, or he needs to be the unquestioned, dominant person in his political relationships. Neither of which bodes well for him or our country should he be elected.
Unfortunately for Hutchinson, Dole and Snow, I think Father or Mother Time did them in. Hutchinson at 65, Dole at 72 and Snow at 61 are too old for Mc Cain.
Here they are:
Here's who should be worried.....
Good luck, Cindy.

Stop the misogyny.

Hi Ripper, I honestly don't see misogyny in this article. I'm a woman and it looks to me that McCain may be overly influenced by beauty in women. Palin's looks have not hurt her. As a matter of fact I'm certain they have helped her in her success. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking that position. To call her names or demean her in a sexual fashion or to assume she is stupid because she is pretty is misogynistic. To assume that advantages are given to attractive people and women in particular is not. Lets not be overly afraid here.

I just saw where Mc Cain said he sees Palin as his partner and his soulmate.
My post is not about Palin or any other woman for that reason. It is about Mc Cain and his thinking.
Try not to be so quick to throw out the "M" word. You weaken it when you do.
