Mark Halperin Actually Gets PAID for This!
Mark Halperin actually listed "mystery person" as a choice for the two presidential candidates.
Mystery person!
Hell, my 15-week-old kittens could have told me that.
Oh. It's after 4:00 on a Friday. He must be on his way to the Hamptons for the weekend.
Nice work if you can get it. Meanwhile, I think I have adrenal failure.

Halperin is a clown. Total clown.
He just makes crap up, and that gets reported on, and when it turns out to be totally false, he's moved on to new made up shit.
Oh, and he's a GOP operative.

The Five Thirty Eight called it earlier today.

"I wouldn't pay all that much attention to hints that people like Mark Halperin or Howard Fineman are dropping about the VP selection process.
Why not? Their sources are too good -- meaning too close to the process. There are differences between information brokers, which is what someone like Mark Halperin is, and information seekers, which is more like what someone like Marc Ambinder is. In a process as tightly-controlled as the Obama VP rollout, the brokers might have more information than the seekers -- but all of the information they'll have will be things that the Obama campaign wants them to know. The seekers are more likely to learn something that they aren't supposed to know. "

Thanks for the interesting article from FiveThirtyEight, Isabelino.
I still can't believe Halperin gets a paycheck for writing "mystery person"! LOL!

observer2, even if Halperin is a GOP operative, how can he get away with listing what amounts to a question mark? Not even Rush Limbaugh says, "Fill in the blank"!
And why do you keep calling Halperin a GOP operative lately? Is it a joke or serious? I thought he was pro-Obama during the primaries.

Any Democratic list that doesn't include Hillary is a good list as far as I'm concerned. And a Republican list with Romney at the top is probably "spot on" as they say in the echo chamber.
I'm still holding out for Judas. He earned it.

Who Judas be?

I think that would be Bill Richardson, dubbed Judas by James Carville, the man with the wife from hell.

Claro Claro...Judas can earn his silver working with Schweitzer in the West and Mountain states, and Texas too.

Billy, if you come back, a question: If you were Axelrod, who would you pick as Obama's running mate?

Clinton if I wanted to win the election. Somebody weak, probably Richardson, if I wanted to lock up the Party.

"Judas" was working as a pundit on Larry King Live last night, as a commentator on the V.P. selection topic, paired with Bobby Jindahl on same. I would say that if he's the pick, that would really really be quite a new twist on the old misleading the press thingie.

I saw Richardson on Larry King, too, and promptly forgot about it. I so don't care what Richardson thinks about anything—least of all Obama's VP pick—that I was more tuned in to Jindal.
At this point, I so don't care anymore who Obama's VP is; they lost me.

he's baaaack tonite! with that pill Kay Bailey Hutchinson this time.:-)
Beard not shaved. That would be another attempt at misleading the press, eh? :-)

Definitely misleading. VP's are not allowed to have facial hair. Of course, he could cut it off tonight and appear clean-shaven in Springfield in the a.m.
I have to admit I'm mesmerized by Richardson's beard. When he talks, I just watch the beard move like it's a living creature attached to his face. It's so distracting, I don't hear a word he's saying. That's probably not the effect he's going for.

We'll see. I'm beginning to think they don't want the f**king torch after all. I guess picking someone like Biden, Richardson, Dodd, or whoever would indicate they do.
Here's a simple one for you who have been paying closer attention than I have. Who on the list of possibles has not destroyed themselves with their own words?

You're letting teh blogosphere get to your judgment. A lot of things that made a lot of noise here don't mean beanbag in reality.
Gasket reminded me the other day, with a link, how Biden supported the whole Ferraro affirmative action/race card point. That was played up in the blogosphere as a big deal. It wasn't. Obama doesn't care about that shit, never did. For instance, whether or not Biden is the pick, Obama was calling him his friend in a speech a day or two ago and pretty strongly suggesting Biden was going to come out with talking points on Georgia/Russia for the Obama campaign.
The only player in this race so far, both GOP and Dem, that I think Obama might really be pissed at is Lieberman. Did we ever really find out what that pissing match between them was about?

You're mistaking me for someone who gives a fig for what Obama thinks. I'm talking about the electorate and the destruction of Presidential campaigns. If it weren't for Tuzla, we'd be talking about Clinton picking Obama. Biden? Won't he have to give a speech? And so on. Ultimately, this election will be about trust.

The Republicans must be jumping for joy that it's Biden. As one young Republican commentator on CNN said, it's going to be interesting to see how Obama's young staff attempts to rein Joe in.
