Hillary needs to show Bill who wears the pantsuit in the family

I really want to believe Hillary's talk of unity. I am finding it hard for one reason.

Bill Richardson was on MSNBC. When he was asked, he said that Bill C. had not talked to him since he endorsed Obama and had heard that he still feels betrayed.

Hillary needs to get on his ass. This election is bigger than Bill C's. wounded pride.

Bill Richardson is a really decent guy who takes his responsibility to the people seriously.

Bill C. is way to freaking narcissistic for that. Hillary's speech tonight was wonderful, but if she really wants to show us how committed she is to Obama, she will make her hubby bite the bullet and tow the party line. She is one tough cookie. I think she can handle that challenge.

Come on Bill. You are the greatest actor of all time. You looked us straight in the eye and fabricated a denial so believable that whole websites that were created for your defense (Moveon.org). They still exist today (endorsing Obama). Try using your thespian skill for a cause greater than your own hide. Even if you don't feel it, get out there and show the American people that Obama is the only sane choice for president. Make me believe you.

Come on Bill...you can do this. Hillary, get on his ass please. We don't have a whole lot of time here.

If Bill Clinton doesn't get behind Obama he will regret it. He was a great President despite personal shortcomings and he helped race relations in this country. If he finds himself on the wrong side of history it will be remembered. Tomorrow is all about his legacy. His failure to get behind Obama would be a sentence that will follow him into social studies textbooks decades after he is dead and buried.

Why do we care what Bill Clinton does again?

I would be a little more inclined to believe the sincerity.

Look. We all know the primaries were nasty. But here is the kicker either the Clintons (yes both of them) thought

a) Barack is a really smart guy. We both like him a lot. He is going to be tough to beat.

or

b) He is an upstart little punk who has not paid his dues. Who does he think he is.

I am more inclined after Hillary's speech tonight to believe "A" (alls fair in love, war and primaries you know). But with the way Bill C. is treating his former best buddy Richardson, well now I just don't know.

Maybe it is really Hillary who is the actor of the family and they both feel the "B" option.

But I am being optimistic. I think Hillary feels "A" and just needs to kick Bill in the pants to get him to sign on.

Hi Mage! I think how Bill feels and how far on board he is is eclipsed by Hillary and her stance. She showed herself to be full on forward for a Democratic win. If he doesn't go there he will look small. He already looks like he has been sulking and bitter. She did the right thing with her speech tonight, which was powerful and very effective. His performance won't have as big an impact on voters. That said he won't be a pooper, he wants to restore his image as much as anything. He'll need to have a positive and inspiring message to get that done.

Hey Baddie :)!! How's it goin?
I hope you are right. Let's hope his speech has a little of the inspiration it once had (or, at least doesn't give fodder for the MSM "Clinton hates Obama " grist mill.

I think if he wants to Bill Clinton could be a big help in this election. If he doesn't want to, we can win without him.

If all he does is make a really good speech and avoids making a spectacle between now and the election I'll be more than happy.

Personally, I'm waiting for someone to kick Wolfson's ass!

If we all chip in for the travel, will you go? I have faith you're the one that can deliver the best 'kick'.

The only caveat is you have to bring us back a picture of him out cold. You in?

No kidding. Fox News of all places? What is wrong with that guy?

Did anybody notice that in the opening to Hilary's speech she said she was a proud mother, proud Democrat, proud America, proud support of Barack Obama... but not a word about being the proud wife of Bill Clinton. And the only other reference to him that I recall was to his Presidency, that along with the Democrats they brought about better conditions. So what was that, payback to Bill for what he's put her through? Maybe she realizes that he had a great deal to do with her not achieving the nomination, and even more to do with not being asked to be the VP.

Speaking of dead-enders, well here's a post reflecting just that. Even now, still looking for an angle to bash the Clintons. Enuf.

This isn't bashing "the Clintons". It's not even "bashing" Bill Clinton.

All the OP did was...wait for it...tell the truth. Bill Clinton, BY HIS OWN WORDS AND ACTIONS, has not gotten on board with the party. He's been griping to the press for months.

This is the same guy who politically sucker-punched Paul Tsongas in '92. This is the same guy who repeatedly uttered this quote in the primaries: "Politics ain't beanbag."

Bill needs to step up, or step off. There's no middle ground here. The good news is, I believe he will step up - in large part because he knows his legacy will have a large hole if he doesn't.

I think Bill Clinton is quite capable of figuring out his relationship with his old friend Bill Richardson without the rest of us.

True, but I would be more inclined to believe the sincerity of Hillary, if Bill were a good sport about this whole thing.

Just the venom he still harbors for Richardson shows that he is not on the "politics aint a beanbag" bandwagon. Those that do quickly forget the vitrol as just par for the course in elections. Not Bill though. No this is grudge holding time.

It makes you wonder what he and Hillary talk about. How does Hillary keep a positive outlook with Bill bitching constantly? You know he is.
