Fact Checking McCain's Defense of Palin's Experience

From John McCain:
“I don’t think it’s a short resume. She first ran for office back in 1992.
I don’t know what Senator Obama was doing then
, but the first time she
ran was 1992. That’s 16 years. I think that’s a pretty, pretty
event-filled and record-filled resume."

Per WikiPedia:
Obama
directed Illinois Project Vote from April to October 1992, a voter
registration drive with a staff of 10 and 700 volunteers that achieved
its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African
Americans in the state, leading Crain's Chicago Business to name Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be.

So,
while. Obama was running a massive voter registration drive on the
south side of Chicago, Sarah Palin was running for city council in a
town of 7000 people.Probably trying to deal with the local Moose population.

Since when is running for office experience?

Can you list jobs you applied for but didn't get on your resume?

Total bunk.

Not just experience, according to the Fox nuts, it's EXECUTIVE experience!

McBush would love for everyone to be comparing experience between her and Obama. They're too smart for that, but all the "pundits" are doing it for him.

A lot of people also forget that Obama did study International Relations at Columbia University, not sports journalism in Idaho, like Palin.

Obama has also traveled throughout Asia, Africa and Europe, both as a Senator and prior to that.

The fact that he has led grass roots efforts in voter registration and job-training shows he has a great deal of understanding how people can be brought together to solve problems and bring about needed change and reform in this country.

Obama isn't running against Palin, he's running against McCain. All this talk comparing his resume to hers just feeds onto the GOP agenda. Compare Palin's resume to Bidens - compare VP to VP.

35 years in the Senate including stints as chairman of Judiciary and Foreign Relations vs 1.5 years as the Governor of Alaska - who's ready on day one?
