80% Approval... WOW!

After an extensive survey of Alaska's residents, Governor Sarah Palin was found to have an impressive 80% approval rating.

Let's see, that means she, her husband and her five children voted for
her along with one other unnamed voter while the two other contestants
in the "Miss Alaska" contest voted against her.  Not bad.  Then again,
there's always that competitive thing between beauty queens.

I've conducted an exhaustive poll in my house.  Both my kids were
persuaded (bribed) to vote for me and of course I gave myself the
benefit of the doubt.   Unfortunately, my wife is an independent spirit
who, despite my best efforts, couldn't be influenced.

So, I have a 75% approval rating!  That brings me 5% short of Palin's impressive rating in Alaska.

She MUST be a winner!

After ONE meeting with Palin, McBush chose her as his running mate.
ONE meeting?!?!?  It has been reported in the media that his selection
was made after ONE meeting and one phone conversation with this
ultra-right-wing, female Dick Cheney.  But let's give her credit for
being better than Cheney in that she's never shot a friend in the face
as far as we know.

The pundits on the right are blubbering over this selection.  She's
obviously in line with ALL their views.  She would vote today to
overturn Roe v. Wade, she's a "life member" of the NRA, she is the
perfect "MODEL" for the Evangelical Right.  Five children, one whom is
in the army.

Her resume is impressive.  She was voted Mayor of a town in Alaska with
a population similar to the residents of any neighborhood in any major
city.  She was elected Governor of a state with a population of
636,932!  Around 65% of that massive number are Republicans so...  what
a surprise that a Republican was elected.

This selection by McBush is the clearest indication yet of his lack of
judgement.  If the polls in the national election don't indicate a 5%
jump for Obama on this choice, I'll be surprised.

An 80% approval rating while 87% of Alaska positive that she's lying about her hand in having or trying to have her ex brother-in-law fired. Governor Palin appears to be very well-spoken, an advocate of political reform and yes a self-described hockey mom. But she's also a blatant liar who didn't think her plan to attempt to cover up her oldest daughters pregnancy would ever come back to haunt her.

I couldn't be happier they picked such an empty shell. Well, maybe not so empty... There will probably be some typical political scum in there somewhere.

If this pick doesn't lead to a Democratic electoral landslide, I'll be surprised.

Whazzzzzzzzup Chucky!!!

BAGHDAD (AP) — American forces on Monday handed over security responsibility to the Iraqis in a province that the U.S. once feared was lost — a sign of the stunning reversal of fortunes since local Sunnis turned against al-Qaida in Iraq.

Brilliant analysis, Lt. As always you've observed the Limbaugh talking points perfectly and spun the "success" of the "surge" without reflecting on the relevant fact that Bush/Cheney et.al. invaded a sovereign nation and caused the deaths of over 3,000 of our finest and bravest.

When the going gets tough... The Republicans BUY spin. Money to the Sunnis in Anbar Province quieted the violence there. TEMPORARILY!

When you and your party-line 29% who still support our "Idiot-In-Chief" realize what's really happened in Iraq, it will be difficult to continue your blind obedience to this moron.

Even John McCain can't really keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years. Eventually we'll bring the ones who remain alive home. Then, or more probably before then, Iraq will explode again. Because of the actions of our country, the Sunnis will be the victims of the genocide this time. They are, after all, the minority.

History will reveal what's really happened here. Your moronic arguments continue to amuse but contain little that can change the legacy of the monsters who have stolen our country for 8 years.

"Doh?" Now that just about sums up your brilliance. It is, as the old saying goes, always better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

General David Petraeus, the top US commander in Iraq, said declining violence in Baghdad raised the possibility that American combat troops could leave the capital by next summer.

But what does the General know according to you right??

P.S.
I think I saw your former Presidential candidate Johnny Edwards, pushing a stroller down the street the other day. It's a shame, I had hoped to see him deliver the keynote address at the 2012 RNC convention.
