why no democratic press conference in response to Bush blaming them?

avatar

I'd like to see the Democrats step up to the plate more forcefully when criticized by Bush, McCain and the neocons.
So far, the Bush message is to blame the Democrats for high oil prices and the crumbling economy and the old "surrender" line in Iraq.
They should lock themselves in a meeting and not come out until they have a well-thought out strong unified and synergistic communications strategy.  That includes demanding equal press time.
Obama is one man.  The Democrats need to emerge with one voice.  On Iraq, on oil prices, on the economy, all factions of the democratic party agree.  They should take what they have in common and drive it home powerfully and with conviction.

Why not? It's not like they even have to be as sleezy as the right - just factual and consistent.

They should also be taking action off the campaign trail. Compelling Karl Rove to meet with committee would be a great start. The whining about his contempt is contemptuous as I wonder why exactly I helped turn a senate seat blue in '06. The significant message would be - these guys are bad guys!

Now run a campaign.

Because Bush had no audience for that press conference. It was ignored by most people. Look at where he is in the polls. Why draw attention to what he said. He is road kill. Let him just lie there and stink.
