Want the morning after pill? HHS will stop you from getting it.
To the lawyers in the house, read pages 30-38.
It's literally unbelievable. The Bush appointees in their waning days
are in the midst of drafting a new rule that has to be read to be
believed. Essentially, it prohibits any entity that receives federal
funds from taking any action against a doctor, pharmacist, ambulance
driver, or anyone else for refusing to assist in an "abortion." There
is no exception for the life of the mother. Ambulance driver won't
take you to the hospital while you're bleeding out? The hospital can't
do anything about it if it receives federal funds. And his right to do
so starts when the sperm meets the egg.
The draft rule defines abortion as:
any
of the various procedures—including the prescription, dispensing, and
administration of any drug or the performance of any procedure or any
other action—that results in the termination of the life of a human being in utero between conception and natural birth, whether before or after implantation. (emphasis supplied).

Republicans have a fixation on government regulation of the female reproductive tract (as opposed to say bank/financial regulation).

Thanks for giving this the attention it deserves. It is so incredible that our Government can deny the fundamental right to life to a woman while a fertilized egg is considered sacred. I am not sure how religious beliefs have become so screwed up about the "sanctity of life" because it sure isn't applied to everyone.

How come if they're so worried about our eggs that they never seem to have all these sacred moments about the little swimmy guys? Maybe it would be appropriate to pass some laws making it a crime against the unborn every time a republican "abuses" himself and lets the little fellers die. After all, they're life too aren't they?
Republicans, the party that loves you right up until the minute you're born. After that you're on your own until you become fair game. I mean, you know, beating and torturing human beings unto death is not a sin as long as two repuggies say it isn't, but ending a pregnancy when you can't be a good parent is. We know that because two repuggies said so.
